Another tip on your camera settings.
Shoot at a higher resolution because I can see the detail loss due to the compression you're using right now. I know the D70 is a 6mp but you're only shooting at 1600x1200 (or you've resized the originals) which is about 2.0mp. It will allow you to do more in Photoshop without worrying about detail loss.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

yea, I've already resized those. I've only set the resolution to 2240x1488 so I can take more pics on the 1gb compact flash. I should set it to max in the future.

Remember any type of sharpening should be done after you have resized to your target size.
