it will take longer to explain how to remove and install than actually doing it. just go out to your car and pull the old cover off. it is self explanitory, really. just make sure all the corners are down. and i put the left side on first, it made it a little easier to pull the outside edges over, because there is more room to work.

Brake pedal pad is 10.59 - I know this because my parts department accidently ordered this one for me instead of the e-brake pedal. Oops.

My e-brake pedal pad was 9.38; I imagine the gas pedal pad isn't much more - the complete SL500 set could be had for less than $35.

Man u all got good prices i ordered mine today and it was $12.00 the guy was a b*tch he said well how did u get this part number anyway i said ummm my friend gave it to me he said well do u have an SL500? i said no its going on my c class he said it wont fit, but after i saw the pic of sdcaclint's i knew it had to so i said just trust me it will fit. so he said ohhh i see you are going to to modify someting on your MERCEDES BENZ (exactly his words) so i said i dont consider replacing a pedal cover a modifitcation so he said very well then and hung up. He had all the info already so i am guessing he ordered it but i have to say this was the weirdest guy i have ever spoke to at Mercedes. i will call again tomarrow and make sure it was ordered. Oh yea and another thing when he looked up the part # in the computer he said there are only 3 in the country right now. IF this guy said it i dont think i belive it.

Well at 1 pm Pacific, my parts guy told me there were two in the US (at Fort Worth); so if you called your guy before this your order may have gone through.

I wonder if the people in the central MB parts depots are wondering why there is all of the sudden a big run on e-brake pads for the SL500?

i called at about 2:00 eastern time. and i was thinking the same thing about them wondering why everyone wants sl500 e brake covers. i bet they will consider raising the prices.

The service brake pedal pad is part number: 230-290-0082

I don't know what the gas pedal pad part number is.

I called my MB dealer to order the 3 piece set for my pedels and they had no idea what I was talking about. They said to try and get the part # for the whole set. Is there one or do they have to be ordered individually? If there is a set part #, what is it?

My guess is that you have to order them individually.

Parts #s
Brake pedal: 230-290-0082
E-brake: 230-430-0084
Gas: ??? - you'll have to ask your parts guy for this one

Gary, I did the same - picked it up today around 5:15pm (Tuesday) at ASC. I guess the parts guys must be quite puzzled by now

To those who need instructions how to swap the pads: no instruction is needed. Just pop the old one with your fingers - if you still can't figure out how to put the new one on at this point - you shouldn't be allowed to touch your car or even put on your own shoes

I finally got my e-brake cover done. I was able to replace this in the dealer parking lot less than one minute. It looks GREAT!!!

I just ordered the e-brake pad. It was $17 including tax and UPS to my house. I use UPS because the dealer is 45 minutes away.

Edit: My dealer's parts man called with this news. If your dealer doesn't have it in stock, it is on back-order at the factory until 25 June with expected arrival in the US in early July.

He was surprised when I ordered the pad, and asked what car I was going to put it on, since it is for a 2003 SL. I told him it was a near match for the C7 pedals and was a popular modification on the internet fora. He thinks he might order some for stock and maybe for e-bay.

i got mine today 2 it looks great i like it. it definitly should have came with it. i put it on in about 15 seconds the most. it only took the parts guy about 10 minutes just to find it.

I do not understand MB pricing, or the dealer takes a little profit. I paid $17.00 and others paid $11.00, being a dealer part,one would think the price would be the same. Looks great.

I was surprised when I got home from work to find my pedal cover had arrived. I had been told it was on backorder until the 25th and probably would be available until July.

Being the fumble fingered klutz that I am, it took me almost a minuted to remove the old cover and install the new one.
