c7 e-brake cover
very nice. Do they make anything like that to go over the pedals of a c320 sedan?
i would think you could use the complete sl500 pedal cover set. i believe all the cars use the same size pedals. you would have a matching set, because the sl500 has all of the pedals with oval shaped rubber dots. i have no idea what the price will be.
My e-brake pedal pad was 9.38; I imagine the gas pedal pad isn't much more - the complete SL500 set could be had for less than $35.

Oh yea and another thing when he looked up the part # in the computer he said there are only 3 in the country right now. IF this guy said it i dont think i belive it.
I wonder if the people in the central MB parts depots are wondering why there is all of the sudden a big run on e-brake pads for the SL500?

Well at 1 pm Pacific, my parts guy told me there were two in the US (at Fort Worth); so if you called your guy before this your order may have gone through.

i bet they will consider raising the prices.

I'm actually surprised at how cheap it would be to get an entire set of these pedals. Even if they raised the prices 50% they would still be cheaper than a number of the aftermarket ones.

Do you have any idea what's the part number for the SL 500 brake pedal pad (and/or gas pedal pad)?
I don't know what the gas pedal pad part number is.

Parts #s
Brake pedal: 230-290-0082
E-brake: 230-430-0084
Gas: ??? - you'll have to ask your parts guy for this one

Just ordered from ASC $9.49. Will be in on Tuesday

To those who need instructions how to swap the pads: no instruction is needed. Just pop the old one with your fingers - if you still can't figure out how to put the new one on at this point - you shouldn't be allowed to touch your car or even put on your own shoes

Edit: My dealer's parts man called with this news. If your dealer doesn't have it in stock, it is on back-order at the factory until 25 June with expected arrival in the US in early July.
He was surprised when I ordered the pad, and asked what car I was going to put it on, since it is for a 2003 SL. I told him it was a near match for the C7 pedals and was a popular modification on the internet fora. He thinks he might order some for stock and maybe for e-bay.

Besides, it's only $183 more than the e-brake pedal cover. How's THAT for a rationalization?
Being the fumble fingered klutz that I am, it took me almost a minuted to remove the old cover and install the new one.
