Seat Belt Chime off and on setting found

I found a setting in the instrument cluster that will enable you to disable the seatbelt chime completely. With DAS, you must go into the instrument cluster settings and it's there. I will try to take a picture of it. Also, I have my passanger seat belt setting turned on. Now if someone sits there without a belt, it will pop up in the instrument cluster breifly. If no one sits there, no warning. If you set it to Europe, the belt chime beeps continously untill you wear a belt!!!!!!

I'm one of that person's that want to disactivate that F@£§§£ thing...

It beeps a lot and its anoying when we want to drive only for some little time.

My dealer sayed that was not possible to desactivate

SUNMAN, I just want to set it to pop up in the instrument cluster, not beeping, so I set it to US mode or what??

According to the US stats, most accidents happen within 1 mile from the driver's home (which would be 1.6 km). Don't think things are too much different where you live. So figure yourself how safe you are during those short trips. On the other hand, I am surprised to find someone outside the U.S. who is lazier than Americans

I think I'm gonna ask my dealer to change it to Europe mode. I'm tired of reminding my GF to put her seat belt on, she nevers puts it on for short trips, let's say I have to drive her to ger her nails done (Cuz she ain't drivin' my baby) she won't put the belt on, even after a 92$ ticket...

chicks.... I want da beep, and I want it LOUD!!

...and it would be pretty surprising, because the original purpose for airbags was to protect people who would/did not buckle up.

ill ask steve to do that for me when he installs UHI. im already having him activate PTS, do the mexico with UHI setting (im going to miss my netherlands setting). thanks sunil, those pics will come in handy. alot of dealers need those exact steps, it would be too much of an effort on their part to search a little while they are hooked up to the car.

You need DAS to change the settings. Buttons on the Instrument Cluster by themselves won't get you there. There are many more toys programmed on an MB than people think, but the only way to access these features (or turn them off) is to hook it up to the DAS.

Would recommend to SUNMAN and others to publish a list of different features that can be added/removed to the W203/CL203 via DAS, and the corresponding country settings (Netherlands, Mexico, Europe, etc...) Maybe on installuniversity.com or something.
