Pre '04 COMAND
How do you guys like your COMAND?
I'm thinking of adding it to my car, from Steve.
The thing that bothers me about it, is two things:
1 - Steve's "logo" when you start it.
2 - No street names, major intersections - how are you suppose to use it then? Just by voice-commands? "Turn left now"?

The Command as several ways of operating. You can show streets in a detailed map, or just arrows for directions. I often just use the arrows and voice, but at night I like to know the streets I am crossing and Comand will show the street coming up

Once you get to know the Comand you wonder how you ever got along without it. It saves me a lot of time when I am going somewhere new.

Get the U.S. Comand, that one doesn't seem to have a logo as mine originally came from Steve but no logo. Also, if you ask I'm sure he'll set it up without the logo. As for quality of maps, it's not up to par with the PC nav software I use, neither is the database of POIs. But it does get you where you need to go, never got me lost and integrates with the dash display which no aftermarket unit can. As for not having the street names, it's not true, they don't display on the map but when instructed to turn left for example, it will warn you to start making your way left way in advance, then tell you at 1000' and then just before you are to turn. At any point in between you can press the left knob and it will give you updates like turn in 500', 300', 100', now. While the arrow is displayed so is a bar graph showing how close to your turn you are and it does give you the name of street you are turning on.
