removing adhesive from plastic dash?

i have a 2005 c230k

and i just removed the airbag sticker off the plastic part of my dash.. the part where the cigg ligther and ashtray resides..

anyhoo, theres a lot of residue left from the sticker..

just wondering whats good to remove it? tried water, its not helping.. i was gonna get some goo-gone, but i heard its not safe on plastics.. so whats good to use?

that's weird because the one on my car came off real easy, with no residue.

I've found that WD40 works great!

I use it to remove most residues without the fear of "hurting" any of the surfaces applied. If you use it on areas inside of the car, I suggest that you wipe down the residue as much as possible and then apply some Armorall around the adjoining areas. By the way, prior to washing I even use it to remove road tar on the sides of the car.

Hope this helps...

I probably would use any harsh chemical containing petroleum, might ruin the finish. I used Goo-b-gone, or any other sort of adhesive remover will work.

i got it the residue off guys.

i used some of my sprayway glass cleaner i picked up at costco.
label says its safe on plastic so i figured why not use it.

tried it with a paper towel, didnt work so well, but got some of it off..

then i saw my 3m microfiber towel i got with my sharper image ionic breeze... tried using that and the sprayway glass cleaner and it lifted all the residue right off!! all clean, and the finish isnt harmed.

thanks guys!
