Indeed they are yours. I could not be bothered to take pics if I can lift perfectly good ones from the forum for the sake of explanation.

And if you ever have trouble making the covers clip back on just pry the silver spring clip back up again before sliding the cover back on. Sometimes they don't want to hold until you do this.
Tell me there are no other types of mirrors and that all merc mirrors fold in?
Hey Guys,
Some jerk cracked my blinker so I needed to replace it. After reading a few posts about how to remove the mirror assembly, the mirror itself, etc, I managed to work it off and now that the cover is off, I can see just how easy it is to remove. So here's a walkthrough for those of you who have yet to figure out how the cover attaches. Now I know there's already one stickied but I thought another perspective and some more pics cant hurt.
My mirror before the replacement:

Before you begin, adjust the mirror using your mirror switch so its in an even/neutral position, allowing the mirror cover to slip off in a later step.
Now bend the mirror backwards by 90 degrees. Its handy to have someone help you but its definitely possible to accomplish solo. You will now see the internal components of the mirror assembly. We're interested in the metal tab on the right hand side. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry it towards the left about a quarter inch. At the same time, pull the mirror cover toward the rear of the car (assuming you have it bent backwards).

You only need to pull the mirror cover back by a half inch. Take your screwdriver out and let the mirror bend back slowly. You will now see that the casing has come off a bit.

Easily slide the mirror cover off.

Just a pic of the mirror with the casing off.

And the other side.

Change the blinker by removing the two screws, popping out the blinker unit, and replacing it.

Slide the mirror cover back on and giggle it until it clicks. You're done!

Hope that helps. I know I would have liked some pics before I started, reading some of the walkthroughs without pics can be confusing.

Greetings,
I need to remove the wing mirror assembly to replace it, and realized I don't have the right tools.
Does anyone know what size the 5-star, tamper-proof TORX screws are?
Does anyone know where to get said driver locally? Perhaps ACE hardware?
I know Pep-boys and Home Depot do not have them. They only have the 6 point bits. Think the dealership will have one in stock? If so does anyone know the part number?
Please note it can't be a bit either, there is a narrow access point to poke the driver through and it is too narrow in diameter for a changeable bit type driver to fit through. It looks like I will need to get a long Allen wrench type 5 star driver.
Finally do I really have to remove the door card (panel) to unplug the wire-harnesses for the mirror motors, and the blinker?
I have a C230 with the non-automatic mirrors. And a Manual Transmission
THANKS!

I have Klein Torx drivers and they fit the three screws that hold the mirror assy to the door fine. They come in a set of five, T15, T20, T25, T27 and T30. This set will save you money and agravation. I find the separate bit system to be a PITA so I like one handle, one size. Kleins are color coded so you can tell at a glance which one you have.
Some cars, like mine
, have a connector for the mirror behind the rubber mount. When you remove the three screws and pull the mirror away, you see the connector. If there is no connector because the wires from the mirror connect directly to the door module, you will need to remove the inner door panel. There is a connector for the LED assembly that makes and breaks when you remove the outer cover. The mirror heater wires are Fastons, and there is a connector for the mirror motor unit. All the parts can be removed except for the hinge assembly.

Thanks for the reply.
The screws on my mirrors are not standard torx. They are known as "pentalobe tamper-proof torx"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torx
Basically it looks like a torx with a nub inside the seat that requires a bit with a hole in the middle. Also standard torx are 6 point stars, the pentalobe is 5 star.
I have looked at several places and can't find one.

Phillips screwdriver works fine - you're only doing this once.

I would adjust the mirror all the way down, then undo the spring on top, then you should be able to just pop the glass off.
Kinda similar to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8K2DCVLCIc

Haha, alright. The one I got was also euro- super concaved. I'll have to wait until I go to work tomorrow but after a 10 minute night drive it looked good.
Compared to the big red blob of a mirror I had before :

hi all,
I'm really sorry for the post, but I cant seem to find exactly what I need. google search and youtube just show manual mirrors
I need to change the mirror indicator bulb on my 2005 c230, but it has electric mirrors and it has more plastic covering the internals. Does anyone know the way to change it? Sorry and thanks

I just changed an indicator on my buddies 2006 C280, the mirror folds manually, however, the mirror glass is electrically adjustable.
I found YouTube help for this.
