SoCal Track Events - Coming up ( 6/6 and 6/22-6/23 )
Hello all,
Well, many of you have asked about the track days that we do. Now is your chance to come out and experience what your Mercedes (or other car) can do at the famous Willow Springs Race Track - 90 minutes north of Los Angeles.
You will get professional instruction, have basically unlimited track time, be fed gourmet food (smoked salmon, filet, etc.) and have the time of your life!
MBworld has negotiated a special rate as well - $399 for first time students! This is only valid for pre-registration by 6/1. This has to be the best value in driving events!

Sounds like fun.... a few questions:
Can you define "basically unlimited track time"?
How will the group(s) be split?
What kind of driver/instructor ratio are you expecting?
What are the planned start & stop times for each day?

Sure, great questions.
You can get literally 4-6 hours of track time per day if you choose. There are no official groups as this is a smaller school run FOR the students!
You can have an instructor with you nearly 100% of the time if you choose. This is why we need pre-registration so that we can guarantee you get what you are looking for!
We will begin the day at 9am and we will go till everyone is tired or it is dark! Seriously!

i guess the question being how many intructor is there and whether he will be available the whole day. And how many people you are expecting (or hoping to see so as to cover your costs) so then we will have a ballpark of how each one have access time to the track and the instructor. Literally if there are too many cars one might endup only spending half an hour on the track

These are great questions!
There are typically 10-25 students per day. We will have 5-10 instructors and this typically covers all of those that need/want instructors. This is why we need pre-regestration, so we can arrange for enough instructors. You will literally have an instructor as much as you want!
You will be guaranteed to have as much track time as you want!
I know of your concerns - I have seen them first hand! You will be amazed at how laid back and FUN this deal is!
And the food! 5 star. Seriously, people come and pay just to eat! The guy who runs it is an italian gourmet chef!

I went to the track event last month at Willow Springs. First, I have never seen so many Ferrari's together at one time! There were only about 15 cars there (Ferrari's, Porsche's, a BMW Z8, and Audi A6), and everyone had plenty of track instruction as well as single driving time. In fact, people would come off the track to relax and stretch their legs after literally spending hours at a time! Unfortunately, my car conveniently had a blowout the day before (Friday), and I was unable to get a new tire in time. Although Simon and Brad still took me out in their cars, to teach me pointers that I could pick up without driving, this will actually be my first lesson. Trust me, after going once, you'll be hooked! I can say this, and I haven't even been able to drive on the track yet.

are there any special mods that are required to run? do i need to bring my helmet? i have stock tires 225-45-17 michelin pilots, are these going to be ok? and what are the restrictions with reguard to speed on the track? and the price is all inclusive correct?

Please bring a helmet.
Your tires will be totally fine.
There are no restrictions per se. Every instructor and student must make decisons based upon the cars on the track and the students level. I can explain this in more detail if you want.
The price is all inclusive of track, instruction and food. The $399 is a one time special for beginners.

Hello we spoke earlier. I mentioned how I would be able to do a track event after my birthday (i know it sounds stupid but im a full time student at two colleges and its difficult for me to have a job). Can I still please get the 399 dollar special as a first time student. I am really interested in your track driving school and would do it for sure. I have one more question. Helmets are quite expensive and I would appreciate it if it is possible that I borrow one during the event; on the website is mentions helmets are included with the expenses. Please let me know. Your help is wonderful. By the way, i went to the autocross and it was so fun drifting the m3. I am looking forward to meeting you and ben once again. Thanks for your time.

Also, exactly whay city is the track near so I can look it up on a map. North is good!
