'05 C230 - 13k mile "A" service cost ??

just reached 13,000 miles on my new '05 C230 SS way too quickly. Time now for the first "A" service (which isn't covered by MB for the 2005 models).

Anyone taken their car in yet? HOW MUCH DID IT COST ?

My car is serviced at Park Place in Dallas, Texas.

Thats funny, i live in Florida and i buy all my Mercedes accessories from Parkplace in Texas. If you need parts or accessories for your Benz, ask for Don in parts. Hes the only guy i ever deal with. Hes a very nice guy. Just though id let you know.

I have an '03 coming up on service B 20,000 next week.

I haven't gone yet but service quoted me
first 13k miles - 2 A-service to choose from $229.95 or $274.95
and if I remembered my salesman, he mentioned it increments by $100 or so for the next few scheduled visits.

I can get further clarification later today when I stop by to pick up some accessories.

Off topic, since you have the '05 c230 SS, have you done any performance mods to the vehicle? I haven't found much people with the '05 with mods since it's so new? Thanks.

whoa, that's reasonably inexpensive because my car insurance is like 10 times that amount for a one year coverage

When you go in, don't actually schedule a "Service A", just rather ask for a regular oil change, that should run between $80-$95 (dealer dependent) including new oil filter. The remainder of Service "A" is basically fluid check, tire pressure, and brake inspections. If something else is wrong with the car, they will normally tell you during a "paid" oil change. Then just ask the SA to ask the tech to reset the car's computer as if a Service A was performed, so that the warning will go away, and start the count-down for Service B.

Dayam, that sounds like a great idea, So were you able to pull that off Saprissa? So is there any resistance from the SA that its crucial you need to perform the Serv-A?

If I tried, I bet you I could. Only reason I don't do it, is because my Service A & B's are FREE on both my C320's. But I have brought the car in for just an $85 oil & filter change that I do in between Service A's & B's, and also ask my SA to check on fluids, tires, brakes, and diagnostics at the same time for Free. He is the best SA ever, and has never said no. The techs do it like robots, not knowing if it's Service A or just a Check-up.

My SA is very honest, and the he says the only crucial aspect of the Service A is the oil & filter change. Everything else in a Service A is just inspection, and you never hear about it, unless something is wrong. Service B is a little bit more involved, and highly recommended. He gave me a list of A vs B stuff, that I have to dig up.

Cool Carlos, i go for my service B next Wednesday. They said it takes 4 hours, is this true? Or is that 3 hours sitting in parking lot and 1 hour work?

That would be great if you can post. I appreciate it. Thank you!!!

I haven't done Service B yet, not due for a few more thousand miles or so.
But, I bet it wouldn't be far from that 4 hour (3 hours sitting / 1 hour work) formula.

Still looking for that Service A vs. Service B list. Will post as soon as I find it. Heck, it might even be in the manual.
