Question for the experts here: I would like to replace the motor mounts on my C230. The driver side is the challenge. There is the silver hose line with a port for AC recharge. There is a connector that hold the silver hose as well. Can I disconnect this hose without consequence or not a good idea? Thank you. Driver's side of engine with mentioned silver hose. Motor mount lies underneath it.
Yes but you want to disconnect the other end where the hose has a U-pipe attached to the transmission, underneath the car. The pipe with the valve in your photo does not need to be disconnected. When I say "disconnect" I mean unbolt from the car frame, not unplug a hose.
You will also need a special 16mm wrench tool to reach the driver's side (I assume you're LHD) mount bolt at the top, unless you're also removing the intake plenum.
Both engine mounts can be removed by rolling them towards the rear of the car, then lifted up out of the engine bay.
If your car is higher mileage, I would also recommend changing out a bunch of other stuff, such as the crankcase ventilation hoses and check valve, as well as topping up the super charger. See this thread for additional information.
