Smile 2005 C230 kompressor- can I change steering reservoir without removing pump
Hello All,

I looked around and surprised I could not find the answer ...so here goes. I have a 2005 c230k , 140K miles on it and plan to change then steering fluid ... but since there is a filter in the reservoir I would like to change that at then same time (as it must be pretty dirty by now). There are tons of videos on flushing the fluid and or changing the pump / reservoir at once, but can I remove then reservoir without all then trouble of removing the pump too?

I would imagine the reservoir and pump are connected by 1 or 2 hoses, with corresponding hose clamps.

Looks like the reservoir is directly attached to the pump.

2005 C230 Sport Sedan-6 Speed Manual

The video shows a C320 which may have a different pump and reservoir configuration.

Yes, you are right ... confirmed at then dealership ... to big a job ... I will just flush it ... thanks
