Mercedes Sport Compact Killer?
Well maybe not quite But I'm hoping when I'm done I’ll get an "A" for effort! I wanted to take a moment and let you folks see how my vision is materializing. I do understand that many of you will not share my taste and direction, no worries that's what makes this wonderful world we live in interesting. First off I would like to apologize for the poor pictures I was to lazy to go to my office and steal my art departments Pro digital camera, maybe next time.
A couple of notes because I’m sure to get questions. The wheels are custom forged very rare “Roja” wheels (18x8 18x10), as a matter of fact I was told after waiting 2 months that I received the last of its kind/ configuration.
The hood scoop is both functional and esthetically purposeful. When I took a look at the inherent design of the body it was important to me to maintain the sleek appearance of the car while echoing the curved lines found within the hood and around the lights. It was also important to me that the car projected a taste of what is under the hood, so dozens of designs later this is what I came up with.
The car is lowered, however not as dramatic as most. Again I wanted the car to maintain as close to factory profile as possible. The car rides well but I won’t rule out the purchase of the HR cup kit.
Now don’t let that stock exhaust tip fool you, remember the exhaust system is a custom full 3” stainless system with dual free flowing Borla race mufflers. I opted to install a tip identical to stock temporarily. I am currently designing and fabricating a custom one of a kind tip. Something reminiscent of the Porsche 996 X50 Twin Turbo exhaust tips.
Ok critique away but keep in mind that I’m not quite done.

A bucket on wheels
no offense but the hoodscoop is disgusting. If anything i would have done some cut outs like the brabus hood. I am also not feeling the spoiler. I prefer something much more discreet looking such as a 3 piece kleeman. The rims are pretty nice.

Folks, I appreciate your honesty and feed back but you must you know that this project has met with such scathing remarks from day one. So, although your opinions are heard, it is important to keep in mind that this is a project which sets aside any preconceived ideas and notions about what is right or wrong. Listen, some would argue that anything outside of factory assignments is sacrilegious! So please, please keep an open mind.
By the way, my local Mercedes dealer(one of the largest in the country) was so enthralled with the project. They are seeking approval from corporate to manufacture postures as a keepsake for the true Mercedes motorsports fan.

I want to see some burnout pics!![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'm not gonna call your hood scape names, as I love what youve done, but it wouldn't have been my first choice.

you can find roja rims easily on ebay. I was going to get a set for my BMW. The only problem was that the hardware bolts were stickers, not real bolts

Again I appreciate your ringng in, but I was not saying that Roja wheels are rare but that the particular style and fitment that I have was rare. Additionally, most manufacturers offer 2 or 3 tiers of product in order to appeal to several price points within the market. That would perhaps explain why the particular series(1 piece) you ran into had "dummy" bolts.
And by the way, even that series feature welded "forged" spun centers.

To explain why I chose the hood scoop....with the decision to maintain the air intake in the factory location and now having a larger k&N race filter, intake tempatures are now suseptable to "heat soak" from the turbo. I wanted to provide a direct source of cooler air in addition to the small ducts in the radiator shroud. This set up is very similiar to that of the Lancer Evo. functioning as a hood vent rather than a hood scoop(as in the WRX).
It Also has the benefit of venting heat from the engine bay while standing at idle. when the electric fan comes in it actually blows hot air through the hood "scoop"(vent). Now keep in mind that the factory vent in the hood is largley ornamental in that it is restricted 70%!
And lastley, I wanted the car to have a slightly "beefier" front end and I did not want to subscribe to the traditional host of "llps" available for the front bumper.

But the serious mods look great, and I'm looking forward to your results.

Not familar with the C230Ks, is your car turboed and supercharged?
That would be the only real reason for well an unappealing hood scoop in my view.
if it is a turbo why not talk about how your engine mods will smoke most everyone else...and screw the talk about wheels and hood

Factory is Supercharged. He removed the Supercharger and added a custom Turbo and Intercooler setup.
