This thread shows how another forum member and I installed subs in our cars.
My car didn't have the Harman Kardon system. I needed to retrofit the amp, wiring and the speakers. I initially used Harman Kardon speaker components I salvaged from another car but later replaced the HK speakers with some inexpensive speakers from Parts Express.
You don't specify whether you plan to use the HK amplifier. The HK amp uses a fiber optic system, and I don't have experience working with that. I recommend that you search on the term "fiber optic" to see whether another forum member provided any guidance.
