C240 Making Engine Sound Like Knocking
I was driving around and while stopped at gate entry I noticed noise coming from the engine. I made it home, noticed the sound seems to come from the driver side, top of engine. It seems to lessen almost disappear at 35 mph plus, and comes back loud while slowing down to 20 and to idle. I don't have any engine codes. What is this related to, engine, water pump, AC (btw AC is working ok). Here is a short video of the sound->

BTW I just did oil change about 2 weeks ago, added 7.8Q or Mobile 1 0-40 Euro formula, and have always used this Mann filter. Car read out reported oil level is good, still does.

Also is this bolted to the compressor because I don't see a bolt on my car, tho' pulley is there only the cover plate was off, and I don't see any bolt that comes in this kit. What bolt size holds this kit?

Does you car come with a dipstick? If so, I'd check it the old fashioned way.
Lazy lifter, not much you can do. Probably won't hurt anything, assuming it's running ok.
I have a lazy lifter that comes and goes. Engine has 262K on it, but even with a leaking head gasket,
which M111 engine is known for, leaking coolant outside the engine near #4 cylinder.
And it still runs fine, no codes or malfunctions on the dash. Just the occasional click click at idle.
Only other thing you could do is pull the plugs and see how they are, not sure what that would prove,
and not an easy job on M112 with 12 plugs. And you could boroscope inside the cylinders to see if everything looks ok.
Again, probably a lazy lifter.
Personally if it runs ok, as for me, I'd just drive it.
Unless it's really bad and sounds like a thrown rod.
Question is...
1. if my pressure is aok on both sides?
2. Do I need to add a smidge of pag46 oil?
