Looking into getting a C240 or C320 for Mom.
Probably going to pick a 2004 up with about 10,000 miles on the car. Anything to look out for regarding the 240 or 320 specifiically. I really have not paid much attention to the 203's since I bought the new E a couple of years ago. Any thoughts on one versus the other is appreciated.
Thanks,
Randy

As for the 240 vs. the 320. the C320 actually gets better gas mileage than the 240(though not by very much). The 240 is definitely underpowered, revs slowly and has terrible throttle response. I haven't driven a 320, but I imagine it's a lot quicker and more responsive. If your mom isn't car savvy and doesn't care about power, then the 240 is fine.

i was kinda curious also, as I'm not sure about the ride quality in comparison with the c230k ss and the c240. im coming from a gti, and i do like sporty cars, but if i plan on gettin a benz, i would like to make a transition to a much more quiet, smooth ride, rather than something thats faster. ive heard that the 230 is a little harsher, but i dont plan on getting a stick. Its just one thing that could use some clarification. I drove a 95 c280 2 years ago, pretty nice ride from what i barely remember. My mom got a clk320 dads got a s430 and i love the ride, feel, and smoothness from those 2 cars and was hoping to get something similar without sacrificing too much power or money.

Personally I went from the c230k to the c240 because it's a lot smoother and I don't try to race everybody.

My wife got a GTi(1.8T) before and we traded it in for 230 because I'd like our newborn baby has a safe sedan to ride in..
Before we picked up the C230, we drove my mother-in-law's c240 for almost one week. The V6 is smooth..very smooth..and for us, it's not "responsive" at all. Of course, the ride is more comfortable, compare with both GTi and C230.
The C230, comes with sports suspension and low profile tires, is more "harsh"..but the ride is quite similar to that of GTi, from my own opinion, as well as "performance" characteristic. Even one is turbo charged and one is supercharged. You will have faster acceleration, compare with C240, and at the same time you will have the 4-cyliner noise when you cruise at the highway speed.
We did not look at the C320, since the price is beyond our budget.
You should go to the dealer and test drive all and in different type of roads: highway, city, if possible, since they all are different! Then you will make a good decision base on what's your preference.
Good luck

Thank you all.
I will go out and compare the C240 to the C320 as for ride quietness. I was more so wondering of there were any problems with them so far, but as no one has offered any, I assume it's just the little MB stuff that usually pops up.
Thanks,
Randy
