Taylor - it's not the delayed in sound production we were concerned with. We have absolutely no sound on accasions. A complete shut down of the car is usually needed to get the Audio 10 making noises again

Ha, mine is possessed. Sometimes the screen goes blank, but I can still see it on the dash. It also mysteriously sets itself to NPR all the time.
Hmmm.....but so much better than the crap cassette it came with.
Now if I could just get my CD player to work again.
When I have time, I'll do the Aux mod and go back to the Audio 30.

Looking at the thread, this is my identical situation where the dealer immediately said it was an insurance situation. They worked with the insurance company which provided the loaner. Fortunately it was pre-pandemic and only took a day to get the part and a day to repair. Insurance company paid for loaner. Policy only covered, they said, essentially a small Enterprise junker so you would have had to pay the difference for a larger vehicle. But as other posters have said, if MB is covering it there is little you can do but wait.

Might you want to discuss with your dealer whether to consider this a case for insurance comprehensive coverage, as I mentioned was the case with my a/c condenser hole? In that case, you would receive a rental car and at least in NJ, a comprehensive claim will not raise your premiums.
I have no expectation of customer service from MB corporate just as I had none when dealing with a problematic BMW 5-series.
