Floor Matts

Could I please gain the help of the veteran owners on a new set of Floor matts for my new C-320. I am looking for the least expensive way to find another replacement set for winter weather.

Wal-Mart and Target both carry DEEP rubber mats similar to what is sold by WeatherTech. Available in tan grey or black, you'll spend about a third for a full set compared to WeatherTech's price.

go to the mall

There is a store in the mall near me that will embroider anything ( words, design, whatever) into 2 floor mats for 20 bucks a set. Its good quality too. You supply the mats though. Walmart, pepboys, autozone, advanced auto should have whatever you need.
Hope it helps

Rick, or Anyone, Can you recomend a online store for oem replacements. I don't mind spending 100.00 for something a little nicer. I want to go with dark brown to hide all the foot marks and water stains.
The BHMA sells them for like 159.00 Does this sound like a deal or do you advise elsewhere.

Patrick.

I just bought winter mats from the dealer. They are rubber and look REAL good. They are shown in the accessory section of their web site. I was suprised that they were only $62 for all 4 mats. I like the way they look better than the OEM carpeted mats. I'll try to get a pic taken after dinner and post it. What color is your car. I think they only come in black--but looks great with my grey interior.

Let's see, the cheapest way, take a job as a valet parking attendant, and when a C-Class comes in with nice mats, steal the mats when parking the car. If you're polite you can probably get a few tips, too.

Just in case the guy stalking me on the web follows me here, that was a joke. You know, those things that go right over your head.

Since you're willing to part with $100 or more (set of four with shipping), check out the WeatherTechs, in black, tan or gray at mats.com

i don't think the mb winter mats are that good. they're thin/shallow and for me, they shift up until they start getting bunched at the top despite having little rubber anchor nibs on the bottom. i admit i like the hexagonal pattern on the mats and they look good. i bought mine on ebay for $30 but ended up ordering from mats.com anyway. i liked the carpet mats from mats.com too.

the ones from target - car & driver winter mats - like $10 each seemed good to me. i bought them for my other car but they didn't fit b/c they were too wide at the top. i think they'd be ok in the MB.

btw, New owner, are you going to keep that login name?

That login name was just handy. Maybe I'll change it to my license plate # STKLAW. Then I guess I should put our firms web site in my profile.

98 E430, how is it driving a newer Mercedes in the Midwest? Benzes aren't as commonplace there as they are here in Southern California. Do the neighbors ever give you snide looks? Do people think you're ostentatious?

Oh the locals kid you a little bit about it. The say " Hell Billy Bob he could have bought hisself a new Gleaner Combine for what he paid to them damn Germans for that **** rig!"

Really, you see quite a few E and C class Mercedes out here in the burbs. Although you see some the pricier models don't seem to be as common although you do see them. What you hardly ever see is some of the cars I've seen on this forum--AMG's and cars that have been all jazzed up with wheel, suspension and body modifications. Out here if you put chrome wheels and tinted windows on an S Class you're sure to be seen as a drug dealer or a pimp--or both!

I guess I would have to admit that the midwest has given me some of these biases. For instance, I just can't understand why someone would take a new E or S class and put 18 or 19" low profile tires on it. I'm not saying that it doesn't look good but seems like you are defeating the purpose of a nice ride and handling. I just personally think that there are some very nice design features that are engineered into these cars that should'nt be messed with.

Are the 4-matic floor mats the same as our sport sedans? Would these mats fit my ride?

Thanks.

that e-bay site wants $80 dollars for the mats and $24 shipping. I just went to the local dealer here and paid $90 plus $6 tax.
