Polk makes a really sweet sounding 6.5 that will drop right into the door openings.....leave the tweeters, they're tough to get to

But then you have a mismatched component pair, no?

I would get a full component set for the front doors. I would not mis-match the speakers. I went for the Kicker I6.2 Components, but Infinity's or MB Quartz would sound good as well.

I went for the MB Quart's and I'm very happy. I think they could use a little more mid-bass but I think that's a result of their tweeters kicking major butt and the fact that it's two 6.5's instead of say a 6.5 and a 6x9 like most cars. IMHO, the speaker placement is terrible but that's a whole diff story.

You'll enjoy the Quarts if that's what you decide on.

Are you guys changing the speakers on the stock system, Bose, or aftermarket setup?

I started with Focals, and rplaced them with MBquart. The Quart are much brighter than the Focals. I have been vary happy with the change, I used 6.5 components and 6.5 coaxles in the doors.

Sorry to bring up an old thread..

But where did you guys fit the tweeters in the front? I mainly want to replace my door (rear) speakers.. they sound terrible.

Would it be stupid to just replace those? Or should I get component speakers up front too ?

Finally how hard is it to replace my door speakers by myself? DO I have to take apart the whole door panel? Easy to DIY myself?

Any advice would be appreciated.
