Belly Pan...whats this??
Trying to sell my 02 C240 and buyer got an inspection done by the dealer. They found a "cracked belly pan". Can someone tell me what this and if is a big deal or not.
Kind of think it is just a plastic protective cover to the transmission...if so, shouldnt be a big deal for it to have a crack??
Thanks Jeff

Assuming there are, of course, not talking about the "oil pan" I would think it would be no big deal. Didn't they give you an estimate on costs to repair it since you had it inspected @ the dealership?
Side note..How do you like your E320's?..are they 4-matic models?..looking at possibly getting one..for the price difference from a C 4-matic model do you think it's justified?

respdoc,
The E320's are nice. They are not all wheel drive as we live in so cal and dont really need with the weather. Only complaint is they are a little underpowered. This gets fixed with the new E350 do to be released in March...might want to wait until then...overall it is a great car that we are very happy with.

The metal pan is $206. You can get the plastic one for like $43! Maybe it's more worth replacing now.
