Belly Pan...what this??

Trying to sell my 02 C240 and buyer got an inspection done by the dealer. They found a "cracked belly pan". Can someone tell me what this and if is a big deal or not.

Kind of think it is just a plastic protective cover to the transmission...if so, shouldnt be a big deal for it to have a crack??

Thanks Jeff

I think on your car there are two protective plastic covers underneath, one more under the engine and the other a bit back towards the transmission. Either one could be cracked and it wouldn't be that big of a deal, as long as what's behind it didn't get hurt.

They are under $50 each so if you knew which one, you could just unscrew it and put a new one on (if it makes a difference).

Since they said "belly pan" it's not really descriptive of which one it is. Maybe it is under the floorboards too?
