HEY i was just thinking about doing that.. to take the strip out so it can be a solid black on the lower grill... i think its possible...

I think the guy's original question was whether he could paint the grille itself...and not the center piece. His car is white and he wanted to paint the grille white...obviously the center piece is already white.

I personally dont think it will look nice with a white grille...makes ur car looks cheap. You may wanna try painting the center piece black instead just like the fellows are discussing here. Or simply leave it....its good enough the way it is.

check out streetsceeneeq.com, it is mesh grille and bumper inserts for cars and trucks. They look almost exactly like what is on the AMG models, if I could get one for the lower bumper on the luxury model it would look just as good as an AMG bumper for about $100!
