Yeah, depends what you're looking to do...major system in the trunk or just a simple sub and amp. I don't have a coupe, but I went with sub/amp to save precious trunk space in my sedan by having a custom box built to fit the space exactly how I wanted. Here's a pic.

It should be a little different in the coupe, but how did you wire it? Did you use the Bose system linkup for the amp or was it a custom job?

Damn, I wish I knew. I believe they wired to the Bose amp. Sorry, I'm not so good w/ that kinda stuff.

The subwoofer, well, bassbox (its too lame to be accused of woofing anything) is on the right side, behind a small door.

I have my sub on the left side. The ground is close to that side, along with the fusebox.

for me the down firing sub was the loudest with least gain.

how does it sound? i was thinking about doin the same thing since i got a solobaric laying around in my room. Does the noise travel well into the car or did they open up a hole or port in the back for the bass to go from the trunk into the car's cabin?

There is no port. I get pretty clean bass into the cabin. I'm very satisfied with it.
