I would get the 80W ones. Personally I don't like fog lights to be too bright and flashy.
I would be interested in seeing the pics after you get them installed.

Lights

If you want the fog lights to be fully functional, leave the standard bulbs in.

If you want to annoy opposing traffic in clear weather, and make the lights nearly useless in fog, put the 80 or 100 W bulbs in.

Another problem is that the reflectors of the lights may be damaged by the excessive heat of the over 55 W bulbs.

i got them put in, but i was able to find the xenon looking lights in 55w form on ebay. I put them in and they look awesome. The dealer also said this would not affect the housing or the wiring harness. If anyone is interested in them they are on ebay. search for ebay seller awsinc.
This guy is good

I can't see how foglights on a W203 can be annoying to other traffic. Actually I find mine incredibly useful and use them a lot at night. Really lights up the sidewalk on the right to see what's about to stupidly walk onto my path.

However, what I do hate are fogs and HIDs on SUVs

Hmm, 24 posts...

Well, if the bulbs were going into driving lights I'd say go for it, provided you're willing to risk the possibility of damage to the reflectors and glass lenses (from excessive heat).

In a small lamp like the MB fogs, this will definitely be a factor. Plus, these lights are designed to throw a soft, low, diffuse light in misty or foggy conditions. These lights are not needed in clear conditions. And 80 or 100 W bulbs will assuredly annoy opposing drivers, especially if you're carrying someone in the back. And they'll create glare for you if you ever do need them to get through fog.

Fog lights should only be used as intended. You can be ticketed in Germany for using fog lights (front and/or rear) in the wrong weather conditions. I wish this was true over here too...

i think philips makes an inclement weather lamp that may be useful. i don't know anything more about them.

autolamps

i have my lights at AUTO and i don't think the fogs are on. at first, i thought this was sort of a gimmick but now, i think its pretty useful. (but, i'm still not convinced about the rain sensor). actually, it doesn't really bother me when i see oncoming lights w/ the fog lights on. unless they coming right at me

Hey Tim,

Did you have Xenons in the headlights to start out with. Did the fogs match pretty good? Did you get them from the guy on ebay named Albert? I e-mailed him today and he said 2 sets of his lights would be $55. Is that what you paid? Did you replace driving lights too?

Got pics?

Yes i did get them from albert. And I had to pay $60 for them. Your getting a deal. No my car had regular headlights. I replaced low beam high beam and fog lights. The low and high beams look pretty close to real xenons, well as close as you can get. the main lights are regular eurolight bulbs. My fog lights are eurolight fusion bulbs, they were the only ones i could find that were 55w. make sure you get 55w bulbs for everything, except maybe high beams, but to be safe stick with 55w. Its after midnight here but i will post pics or email you with pics of the lights.
Any more ?'s dont hesitate to ask!
