Pics of ClearBra and DeBadged Coupe Rear
We had some discussion last month of Clear Bras.
I took delivery about 2 weeks ago, had a Clear Bra Installed and found out that 3M film has some UV protection so paint fading is a non issue, especially when you consider that you will wax the clear bra just like your regular paint.
The key to the presentation is the installation. While no installation is perfect since humans are installing and not machines, this install is fairly impressive.
It is not a kit but a custom cut job -- the entire front end was done and grille strips, along with right behind the headlamps on the side, the 2 side mirrors, hood and the rear of the lower rocker panels - jut ahead of the rear wheels. The cost was $595 and if you live near Dallas and want the install, I can give you the name.
As to the debadeged rear, I thought there was too much lettering and just left the star in the center. Now if I can figure out how to post multiple pics...

He must have done a decent job
As the clear bra is a 3M film that is applied directly onto the paint -- and on this coupe, it is on the entire front end and directly behind the headlamps as well as a couple of other places.
This installer will also do the hood, side of headlamps, mirrors, grill strips and rockers for a little over $200 if you don't want the entire front end covered.
Also the headlamps have the Stongard light kit on them.

In the larger photos (not able to post)
you can see the clear line on the hood and a bit on the side -- but you can't tell on the front end -- bumpers and all. Amazingly good job.

Naw, stone chips give my car character. Besides, I got a couple of chips before I learned about clear bras... I would have to get the chips touched-up to perfection (better than MB-BOB's touch-up kit can produce) and wait for the paint to cure, before going for the bra. I've decided not to get that **** about the car, especially since we're subject to baseball size hail at any moment from Feb-June. How's that for fatalism?
After leaving the car at this place for window tint, that place for clear bra, another place for remote radar detector install, the detail place to prep so I can ZAINO, plus the requisite week-long stints at the dealer to replace the silliest things, I would never have the car in my hot little hands to drive it.![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Thank you for offering, though. There are others in the area that might like the number...

I have a guy
who will come to your place of work to direct wire the detector - I need him to do it on my TT about $25. He will also hook up a Nokia Hands Free that will hook to the car's microphone for $300.
Where do you work, I am in Dallas, and maybe he can hook both of us up with the detector.
