A button under the gas pedal....wut is it for?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
even a 50's chevy did have a type of kickdown setup, linked to the throttle/vacumm (just so's ya'll know- throttle position and vaccum pressure are directly related in naturally aspirated cars, and even in super/turbo-charged vehicles, but the forced inducion adds another factor i'm not even going to touch on here.)
i thought that a WOT/kickdown setup was common knowledge.....even my mother knows what it is, and where it is, and shes not car savvy at all!

Hmm, 135, I thought I touched 139, perhaps even 140. I "WUZ" driven up DA 5 on the way TA Napa. I'll admit that at those speeds I "WUZNT" paying 2 much attention to the speedo though.
Rick, WHO CARES HOW PEOPLE SPELL & PUNCTUATE?

One question, I have my coupe, a diesel one, with 6 manual gears and it have the switch too!!!
Does it do anything, I didn't noticed yet???
The switch is also present in the diesel cars (CDI's to be precise) to enable the turbocharger to spool up earlier...I have driven an E 270 CDI 6-speed, u dont need to let go off the accelerator pedal when changin gears as long as u have ur foot all the way down n have the button pressed.
