In Wikipedia it states that Coupe will still be W203 based, with a facelift.

Its not too bad...but I don't think it will look anything like that based on the spy shots posted not too long ago.

not great but a step forward.
i read that the coupe will be based on the OLD W203? If so that is the lamest thing MB has done since deciding to produce 20k amg cars a year.
Who will want to buy a car based on the old W203 chassis when it came out 7 years go?

You are correct. My CLK is a 2003 model, but it is a W208 while the coupe for 2003 was the new W209 model. The W210 E-Class wagon was carried over as a 2003 while the sedan was the new W211 model.

I don't know what they're going to do with the hatchback, I really can't say I care since it likely won't come to the U.S. and it isn't a real "coupe" anyway. Though I don't see Mercedes just re-skinning the old car when the sedan has gone through a much more significant change.
