Actually the model lineup will be like this:

C300 Sport or Luxury
Both available with 4Matic

C350 Sport only, no 4Matic available

No Problem. I went there again today with my "Better" Camera, but all they had was the same red car. They had the entrance that I went through chained off so they must have gotten wind of these pics. Funny thing about it is that I did the same thing with the W203 7 years ago and posted the pics on this very site.
I was going to ask if you worked for MBUSA before I saw this post haha.

W204 shortcomings

Thanks for the great pictures. One thing is clear and that is that Mars Red is all wrong for this car. This particular car is the entry level Sport model with the 3.0 engine (228hp) which the Luxury model is also stuck with. And that means another black only interior with aluminum here and there.

Having already decided to get out of my '01 C320 and refusing to live with black inside, it's going to be a metallic red (Carneol Red, I think it's called) Luxury with Cashmere Beige leather. I think none of the wheels are acceptable, all with too many spokes to clean. Looks like the AMG 18s at $1200 will be what I order even though they have five double spokes. Sorry to say US models won't get the flashing brake lights or the multi-mode headlights.

Contents of the four extra equipment packages are now on the net but no prices of anything have been revealed.

The main thing I am hoping for is an end to the electronic glitches that my '01 has been saddled with and is still having after six years of ownership. Luckily I bought the 8 yr/100K factory warranty extension.

np, it should be the way you described it, let's hope they will add this in a subsequent year. My ideal car would be a C350 Sport 4Matic.

Looks a bit similar to the new CTS. Not that the CTS is a bad looking car, I just think they could have done something a bit more "original".

It doesnt look bad though, and seeing it in a different color might do a lot for it.

Agreed. The 2008 CTS looked incredible at the auto show! My dad had the original one briefly and while it was a fun car, it wasn't built well. The new CTS might really give the new C-Class a serious competitor.

I also think you are right about the colors...I think that the new C will be very color dependent, this one looked really good:

New CTS:

The new CTS is pretty nice for an american car that is for sure. I am partial to the classic grille, but it would be nice to have a bigger motor, so to those interested in more power and the classic look, why not get a sport model and swap out the grill and hood badge?

That would be what I would do...how ironic, for years people on this forum and elsewhere have been swapping the classic grille to the CL/CLK style grilles, now we have to do the opposite haha.

The problem is that I want 4Matic as well and the C350 Sport does not come in 4Matic, but the C300 Sport does. At least that is some progress for MB since they haven't offered a 4Matic C-Class sport for the W203. If I had to buy a W204 right when they came out I would do the following:

Buy a C300 Sport with 4Matic, swap grille for traditional grille and hood star.
Remove interior aluminium trim and add black bird's eye maple like in the C350 Sport.
EDIT: I would also remove that hideous sport steering wheel and replace it with the one from the luxury sedan.

The new CTS is supposed to be increidble and the interior is supposed to set a new standard for Cadillac. There is even ambient lighting in the footwells and door pulls, which seems to be a big trend in new cars.

Does anyone know what kind of ambient lighting we're going to get in the W204? I saw one picture that showed light strips in the door pulls.

Thanks for the great pics!

I like the front especially in the silver color! Both the interior and the pushed in rear might be too much for me. Can't wait to see it in person.

Werkswagen!

Sorry to revive........but Werkswagen At first I didn't like the body style but it's starting to grow on me. But with the luxury being limited to the 228 hp engine I won't be getting one. Now I'm thinking CLK

Give it a year or two, I'm sure the C350 Luxury will come along. If not that soon, definately by mid-life update there will be new generation engines, probably with direct injection and much more HP to compete with the BMW 335, the Infiniti G35 (which also has 300hp) and of course the new Cadillac CTS which is supposed to have 300hp.

whats the real modding potenial for this car...you could get any & everything for the w203 within the first 2yrs of production, but with the w202 even at its height - things of quality were still hard to come by

They really need more powerful engines. And I don't like the C300 name.

MercedesFTW--why are the mirrors required like that?

Not their fault--it's new EU requirements. It's probably only a matter of time before the S-Class and CLS-Class mirrors get reworked as well. Does anyone know what that large portion is though on the mirror over the turn signal?

Well I read that it's a safety thing for EU, on why the E63's mirrors were so bulbous. I assumed same ruling applied here.

Oh, I didn't know the EU was pushing for larger mirrors. I don't mind this kind of regulation. The old mirrors were so tiny.

Yeah the mirrors on my C-Class are really bad. The shape is just strange and part of the passenger side mirror is blocked by the small speaker in the door there.
