wow, I did not like it cosmetically but it is starting to grow on me. Now after looking at that I like it the engineering is great... and the luxuries are good as well... looks like I have a contender for the replacement of my 04 KOMP

Thats a very good review! Nice that they actually talk about all the small details that matters, rather than "oh the seats are better in the A4" or "handling is better in the 3 series", this is whats Mercedes is about.

The C-Class is an awesome car. Unfortunately since I live in Southern California it will probably lose some of its appeal to me when I start to see 16 year old kids driving it to their high schools.

The review was great too. He molested the buttons

Haha, it's true though. I'm getting one next month for my 17th birthday, I'll try not to embarrass you by driving like a jerk in mine.

Just wait till they come out with another road test, in which they will criticize the W204 like hell. No, not because it is a bad or ugly car, but because they do this with every car.

just wait

But I start liking the W204 more and more. Guess I'll have to see it in real person.

Great review!! I can't stop watching it. So much more engineering put into it!! I can't wait for long-term reviews.

EDIT: I just watched it again and noticed he said they've been designing it for 5 years. That puts us into Schrempp time.....

Did anyone notice that the shift display will apparently show what gear you are in at any time? There are numbers 1-7 across the bottom of the display. I have often wondered just what gear I'm as the transmission keeps picking the right gear. Maybe now I will know.

The car looks great, it has really grown on me. I agree with AR.Shah--the details are what make it a Mercedes. I was exploring the press section on DC's website and there was an entire press release about how Mercedes tested at length the aero blade wipers in some advanced climate and wind tunnel. (These are the wipers they put on the W203 for 2005+) I love it--Mercedes writes an entire press release about wipers! Only they would do that.

Only thing I didn't like about the video is that Fifth Gear really copies Top Gear a lot. That thing he said about "what kind of a meeting did they have about the buttons" was almost directly copied from something Jeremy Clarkson said when reviewing the S600 a few years ago. He said "what kind of a meeting did they have where they said "the rear number plate light, how long should it stay on after they get out of the car."

I like Clarkson's German accent impressions better.

Oh and do you have a link to the article?

Agreed, his German impersonation is better.

I actually have it downloaded on my hard drive but I will see if I can find a link on YouTube or Google video.

Here is the link to the Top Gear video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmkX9mtF9zI

The one I have is longer and they also review the Maybach. If anyone knows where to upload a 131MB video for free, I would be happy to put it up there.

Andy is your car Pewter?

Check the high school parking lot next fall. I am going to HOI today to drop coin for an August European Delivery. My kid should be driving a decent car to school.
