just got off the phone with the dealer and found out that the money rate for mercedes of miami for me was .0039....which is almost triple of what the 328i mf is(.00140) which is basically why a c300 36 mo. lease is 580 compared to the 328is 420...I think that mercedes will drop its rate in the coming months and the winter sales event starts in about 3 months also. So it looks like im going to extend my lease (05 c230 ss) for another 3 months ...I really want this car but I know that the 400 a month goal can be reached because the sticker on my 05c230 was 37.5 and i got it to 393 a month and I waited about 5 months after it came out so im hoping history will repeat itself ..

I find this very strange of Mercedes. They wanted the car to be incredibly agressively priced, which it is...but most people lease, especially at this level so why not make attractive lease terms?

What will be the incentives for returning Mercedes lease people who currently lease a Benz? Does Mercedes offer Loyalty programs or anything like that?

I totally agree with you....great priced car but it leases for the same price as an e class or a 335i coupe which is abusurd.....and you would think its main competition being the 328i that it would be roughly the same price but it is almost double.....

and as for loyalty programs, I was not offered one my 05 c230 is up this month.

I'm hoping that the rates change once it's "officially" launched. Part of me wonders if they don't have the rates high right now to discourage dealers from selling the first batch before they hit the lot.

Either that, or I'm going to wait and see if they offer anything up on the winter sales event.

For you long term MB guys, what kind of deals do they typically offer during that? I remember seeing commercials, but never paid attention.

for a 42k depending on the rates of course i would say you be in the mid to low 500s...however if the rates get to be pretty good you might be in the 450-500 range. right now you can get into a 335i sedan with a sticker of 41k for about 460 a month with just inceptions...so you never know its all depends on the rates..

Question

I have bought many MB in my life (probably 20-25? I lost count) anyways ..... but come to leasing Im a totally newbie , yesterday Aug11th when I passed by my dealer and took this lease deal

C300 with P2 $3K down $410 a month for 39 months 12K miles
i dont think is bad at all as I often read los angeles time newspaper, almost ALL 80% cars ads require $2K-4K down. Even cheap brand like nissan, gmc, or toyota mostly need 2699 2999 down for their special lease, cheap honda accord also require $2999 - $3699 down for their $149 a month lease. Also audi, volvo all ads ask for $3k-5K down too.

I have read what you guys complain above and crying $688-800 a month is high?????? really????? $688-800 was ZERO down drive off right ?????? If yes, then is not expensive . thats about right 700-800 cuz no down pay.

Again, im just a newbie when come to leasing since all my cars was paid off with cash. And this is my first time leasing, so is it leasing a C class should be zero down to consider a good deal ? if put down payment is consider not good deal ? if yes, why all ads on newspapers require couple G down for their special lease ???

Thank you very much for your help and advice.
I am still learning ~

YOU ARE ABSOLUTLEY WRONG.. if you are at 750 with zero down you would need to put $11,700 and you still wouldnt be at your $410 a month......remember when you lease this is how you figure out your down payment....you start with zero down first. lets say 750 and then depending on the term, in your case 39 months, every 3900 would drop the payment 100 dollars.....so to get down to the 450 you would need three 3900 payments which = 11700....so you are absolutely wrong....and we are not crying so please watch how you go about things if you do not know what you are talking about

Well guys,

After considering the C350....I went a different direction and purchased an 04 E55 for $46k.
If you are a performance die-hard and want to really spank some 335i's, you might want to consider this option as the E55 has dropped in price to levels approaching the C350 that has a few options on it. Sure the E55 is used, but it is a beast and has lots of options like parktronic, pana roof, nav, etc....

The downside is I'll have to get an ext warranty before mine expires in a year, and the car is a gas guzzler.

Good luck to all of you purchasing the C. It is a great new MB car!

Jeesh, what's the deal with the high numbers? I'm only paying $390/mo with $3,600 out of pocket on my 05'. Was hoping to be somewhere around there on the new one. Hopefully the rates come down by the end of my lease. That's crazy.

mmmm I thought the best way to lease is to pay $0 or hardly anything down and let MB change the rates to get a great deal.Only repeating what I have a studied on leasing.

Putting money down is only advisable if the money factor is high. Usually it is not high on the lower models that Mercedes has so putting money down is like giving them an interest free loan. Many people like to put money down to get the montly payment to a number they are comfortable with, but the fact is you are paying pretty much the same in the end.

I wanted a payment under $400 and I had just sold one of my investment properties so I just put the cash down. I figured I was only screwed out of the money if the car was stolen (highly unlikely in my case) or totalled which *knock on wood* I've only been in one minor accident in my life. It's nice having a lower payment though. I actually think I'm going to finance next since I drive very little. With the high lease numbers so far, I think it's a better option here as of now.

I actually went into my local dealer today and they told me that they have a 4% lease special right now for the new C class and it'll probably get better in december. The salesman was really trying to push me into leasing when I wanted to just buy it. Any pros and cons with leasing and buying?

Most people will suggest to buy if you can afford. However personally I prefer lease because I want a new car every 2-3 years without hassle of saling old one.
