When you say $39,805 I assume that is without tax, car only? What fees did that price not include? I am looking at the same exact car here in OH and it stickers at 43,160, it looks like you got a GREAT deal!! This is not a employee/friends/family discount is it?

Post how much you paid for it
By sending this to about 20 dealers, I got one dealer tonight to order me the 2008 c350 sport with the specs below for only $42,000 even out the door, TTL included. Pretty stoked on the deal... Only catch is, they said it probably wont be here until november.(see what I sent below. worked for me and got me what I think is the best deal yet. got it in writing too) (I got about over $5000 off total including TTL.):
---------------------------------
Hello. Email offers only. Please do not call. Please do not negotiate. Only will accept invoice with tax and tags. If called I will not deal with dealership. If emailed anything other than invoice I will not deal with dealership. (See requested build below). (oh and the salesguy said he wouldnt make a dime off this price and only the dealership would, so I slipped him a $100 bill and got him to get managment on my side)
2008 C350 Sport
Exterior Color: Arctic White
Interior Color: Grey/Black (Non-Leather)
Wood Trims: Black Birdseye Maple
Options:
Panorama Sunroof
18" AMG 5-Twin-Spoke Wheels
Packages:
P2: Premium II
Multimedia Package
MSRP: $43575.00
My offer based on true invoice price is $42,000 OTD
I can wait till OCT/NOV if this car in my requested specification has to be ordered.
Thank You for condsideration.
Let me know how you would like to proceed.
Thanks,

C300 YEAR END SALE
I received an E-mail from a local dealer offer C300 $2000 UNDER FACTORY INVOICE on all vehicles in stock. The Tax and License Plates are fixed prices not set by the dealer. Go to edmunds.com or kbb.com to get an estimate of the wholesale price. Add the options that are available at your dealer subtract the dealer discount below the estimated dealer invoice.

C CLASS 2008
. The local dealer is quoting 9 E500 in stock $7,000 below factory invoice. He must mean MSRP not dealers' invoice. Edmunds also gives best prices which may be stale with the fast price movement this time of year.

7K is off of invoice, when I picked up a car for my wife. The dealer was giving 10K off of MSRP for the E class + 1.9 percent FI for 72 months.

The Sale end July 31, 2008. The dealer is giving the price that he wants to sell at this time. The dealer may take a lower offer or there may be another dealer that is selling the remaining Model Year 2008 vehicles for less.

Which MB dealer did you buy your car from? If you bought it from MB-Richmond, go ask James Ng if he can give you the phone number of the installer. You can mention my name and that I suggested that you see him. He is a very nice guy and I have known him for a long time.
If I were to have invisible bra done on my MB, I'll have it professionally installed unless of course, you have prior experience.
BTW, why don't you fill in where you are located?

For reasons of a life and death nature (I was warned about a Mercedes Mafia Hit) I can't say exactly how much of the RRP I managed to negotiate off ... but I can say this; if you are wanting to get a discount, you need to offer them something - the more "something" you offer, the better the bargaining power ... in my case? I offered two things -
1. Guaranteed Servicing for the next three years (@ 40,000KM/annum = min 7 services)
2. I was willing to wait to have my order fulfilled at a point where their sales were lower (i.e. if they miss one of their September allocs, they'll slip me in then -- this means an October alloc for me atm)
If you have the facility, I'd ring two or three car brokerage firms and ask them which dealerships they deal with -- then ask, which ones have the lowest sales figures (the insurance buyers will know!) - - go to those dealerships as they are more likely to "deal" as they'll need to maintain their franchise licenses.
However, let's be VERY honest - absolute best you can expect is approx. somewhere between 1-6% ... and if you are getting 4-6% you are doing VERY well.
--------
Mind you -- if you have the option for a Novated Lease (Salary Sacrifice Lease plan) the pre-taxation nature of the payments in effect equals another 7-12% off the purchase price (depending on your KMs travelled and taxation brackets) ... those in Australia should definitely explore this option as the stamp duty and LCT are also (marginally) lower in this scenario.
Hope this was helpful to someone.

Value over price is my modo. Everyone has a different view if value too.
Im happy to pay full price if the service is there to look after me.
Not to mention that the New C is definitly worth the money. Like the post before said, the new C is cheaper AND more equiped then the out going C.
I like to be treated with respect as im sure most of you ( if not all ) do as well. Dont get me wrong if I can save I will but I wont get a product from one place to save a small amount over the place that has more respect for me and my money.

'08 C350 Sport
I got my '08 C350 Black on Black MB-Tex, P2 Package, MM Package, Panorama, iPod Integration, 24 miles on it (pretty much fully loaded without the AMG 18" upgrade) for
$36,000 invoice
+$2,530 tax/title/tags/dealer fees
$38,530 OTD
MSRP was around 43,500 I think.
What I do..in a nutshell...
As soon as I met with my dealer, I mentioned that I was a COSTCO member and wanted to see the member only invoice. However, my dealer seemed sketchy because he kept beating around the bush saying that the COSTCO discount is actually a lot less than the discount the dealer was offering. Regardless, I went for a test drive and after, sat down to negotiate. Without me even mentioning a price, he offered $40,000 plus tax/fees and I said I'll go meet with the other dealers that I was talking to. He got up and went to go talk to his manager. After like 10-15 minutes, he came back and said what dealers always say "I'm going to really make it tough on you and since my boss really likes you, he said he'll give it to you for $37,000 BUT you have to get it right now." I'm thinking "wow, that is a big discount" but I held my urge to give in and exercised the power of walking out. He stopped me one more time and this time, offered $36,000. I still walked out on him and behind my back, he said "If you leave right now, my boss won't be able to give you this deal." I was like "whatever, sureee.." I went to the next dealer and long story short, I told him he had heck of a price to beat and the nice dealer that he is told me to not to miss out on the great deal I just had and immediately without wasting any time, to go back and get it for $36,000. And I did.
Oh, do you guys think if I said throw in the AMG 18" upgrade for 36k, it would have worked when I was walking out? or am I just getting greedy now?
