they are nice cars but eveyone I know and I mean eveyone who ahs had one has had major issues
I sat in a 2007 an it felt, like a cockpit, tight, but the nose of the car felt huge - Audi has earned credentials, it's just not for me

They certainly ligthened the car though...the 1.8TFSI for Europe comes in at 3100 lbs. The U.S. will get the 2.0TFSI so I wonder how much weight would it add.
Wonder if they will add the new touch-screen Nav that is coming out soon for release.

There is a MMI controller (like iDrive, Comand), electronic e-brake release, suspension adjustment (if equipped), start/stop button. That's about all I can gather from the picture. Similar to the A6 and A8 center consoles.

I hate to be the party pooper again, but why is this in the W204 forum (again)? We aren't even trying to draw any comparison here. There must be a better forum for these topics.

This car has nothing on the new C class. I love how Audi keeps using the same old greenhouse over and over. Quite frankly there’s nothing striking about it, it’s the same old boring Teutonic Buick it has been for the last few year. The interior look well laid out and concise, but even still it’s just overall ehh..

As an Audi fan (and somebody who's never had any major issues with the 4 I've owned...wife just bought a Q7 over a GL450.) I was really hoping that the new A4 would draw me away from wanting a C350 (supply issues, no mem seats, a-hole dealers, etc.).
Sadly, and I'm still reserving final judgment until I see it in person, I'm not at all impressed. It's just dull, and I feel like I'm looking at the same old B7 with yet another new nose and trunk design tacked onto it. Interior also looks to still suffer the right knee clearance problem.
Hopefully the new platform will cure some of the understeer.
Now here's me, going back to waiting for the MFs from MB financial to become reasonable.

LOL, I knew the memory seat comment would come out. The option list goes a little further than just memory seats
6-speed manual in all variants (2.0TFSI, 3.0TDI and 3.2FSI)
Adaptive Cruise Control
Three zone climate control (driver, passenger and rear passengers)
Back up camera (not sure if w204 has this?)
Advanced Key (like Keyless Go)
Bang and Olufsen Stereo
Hopefully by the time the B8 comes out, MBUSA will have added a few more options for owners to the w204

I love how you guys are ******* the B8 A4 before it even touches Ameircan asphalt, let alone before any of you have even seen it.
I like this car a lot and probably will consider one when they get here, next to the C. The performance, technology, design and value are all there(split fold seats are standard). None of that is to say that this car is by any means a done deal for me, I think Audi has some marketing and pricing issues to sort out for this car. In the end I think, for me, it will come down to RWD vs. AWD. We'll see....but if they stick DSG in the B8 by the time I'm ready to buy, it will for sure be a done deal.

Anybody ******* the A4 hasn't owned one. Nobody on the board loves Mercedes more than me But.....the reason I don't own a Mercedes right now is because after I sold my 5spd 2.6 W201 in '99 and bought an A4 I have never been justify the premium for a Mercedes C class over my Audi.
I drove the new W204 luxury back to back over the same route as my 10 year old 134k Audi quattro. The C300 was absolutley quieter overall except for the grainy road noise the the tires trasmitted to the cabin. The car road a little better and handled nicely but did not inspire the confidence of the quattro A4. The most bothersome thing about the W204 was how light the steering was at speed.
The C300 drivetrain was way better in every measure, smoother, quieter, more powerful but the mileage isn't as good. The interior is bigger and the car felt more solid.
Mercedes has yet to match VW/Audi on side impact performance hopefully they will catch up with the W204. My son who grew up in both my 190E and A4 thinks I'm totally wacked to still want a Mercedes.
For all its virtues I didn't find the C300 to be worth 7 times my Audi. Having said all this I will likely buy a W204 if I can get past the light steering issue not because it's a hand downs better car but simply because it is a great luxury car and to have a Benz is in my blood.

I’m not sure if the Audi bashing comment, or the “Anyone bashing the Audi hasn’t owned one” was directed at me, but… My family (parents) had an Audi 5000 CS Quattro back in the eighties, of which later my father had the original Audi A4 after the 80/90 series cars, I much latter owned a 2002 Passat basically the same car as the A4 of similar vintage, I know my VAG cars. My 1.8t Passat suffered coil pack issues, multiple electrical nuisances, ticking sound that developed at around 500 miles on the car requiring a complete teardown of the trans etc… I can go on and on all while still not comparing apples to apples. At anyrate I’m sure the current Audi’s are better in every way, but even the purist complain about the RS4 and S4 models and the serious understeer, not found in even the $31K C300 or C350 we won’t even talk about when the AMG 6.3 hit’s our shores. The Audi looks great don’t get me wrong, but at it’s price point I don’t see it’s justification over per se an Acura TL other than needing AWD which even with my busy and active outdoor lifestyle and California living, I have yet to personally have a need for. I don’t drive like a clown in inclimate conditions and weather, and I have yet to get my C300 to even get close to stepping out driving nearly at 10/10 in dry weather. I actually think the BMW E90 is closer cross comparison and better choice over what ever new A-car VAG brings to the plate. And by the way I’m not an Audi basher, I’m a car enthusiast I would choose an Audi Q7 4.2 before a GL 450 in a heart beat as with the new TT Roadster before the (funny nosed) SLK.

Pros:
> Great seats, Eye point and road feel.
> Nice conservative, clean, low risk styling from an over all design stand point.
> The 4.2 V8 produces gut wrenching torque right off tip in and sounds good doing it.
Cons:
> Amber illuminated cabin lighting only belongs in a Pontiac
> The Autotragic transmission responds about as quick to throttle input as the ones they install in a city bus.
> Whats the Quattro for again? My demo car wanted to roll & plow straight through every turn I threw at it as oppose to over steering through with a slight bit of neg-lock.
> Who is Audi trying to keep up with Hyundai/ Kia? They change, re-freshen their cars almost every other year, making your two year old car look & feel dated. All most every iteration of a Mercedes Benz is conceived with timeless styling & elegance. Matter fact a 1992 E500 past me by today, and I thought wow does that car still look good today. In contrast a 1992 Audi 100 reminds me of an eagle premier by comparison.
> At the end of the day, it's still just a really expensive VW.

So what is different between the current A4 and the next generation? Looks even more bland than the one right now. Not to mention the interior is even busier than before. Just my 2 cents.

I couldn't agree more.....Mercedes Benz's are the most beautiful cars on the road and have been for years and years...It has been truley a remarkable achievement.

When Audi starts winning F1 or even turning up to play them I would get another one.
After owning several and rebuilding at least 2 AUDI transmissions. I doubt you could ask me any time soon to drive one off the lot.
