Mars Red C300 ... here I come!

What's up, guys?

Noob here, patiently awaiting the arrival of his C300 speced as follows:

Mars Red
Black MB-Tex
P2
Multimedia Package
7G Auto
Panoramic Sunroof
18" AMG Wheels
Rear Lip Spoiler

The car should be ready by early October. I currently have a 2006 Acura TSX w/Navi. The car is great at everything it does, but not amazing like the C300. I first test drove the C200K European Avantgarde AMG Sport Packet in June and fell in love with the car! The Kompressor engine has so much torque! Too bad we don't get those options here in the US. Well here are some pics ... I stopped by a dealer and they had a Mars Red C300 in and I took it for a spin and took some photos with my phone of it next to my TSX. Sorry for the crappy quality.

Also, I have a question. Does the Navi have traffic updates built in? Thanks!

Awesome color combo man, our dealer had a Mars-Red C300 with the 17” AMG wheels that we almost got before we got our steel grey. I have always loved a bright red Benz, especially the way the W203 Sports look. For us it came down to the augment we had about the red couch we were going to get for our formal living room. One thing about red be sure you like it, because you are stuck with it. When you go to sell it, a very narrow or select personality will appeal. Most importantly if you love it than go with it. I’m jealous, as I wanted it. Also I always wondered what the 18” AMG’s would look like under a Mars-Red car.

Yea, I LOVE the red. My dad has an '07 C230 that is Mars Red as well. Check this link out for full Mars Red on Black on 18's with MM!

Man O Man that's in your face Fire Engine RED, it certainly stand out among all those cars in the parking lot. The last 2 cars my wife owned were red and she loved them.

TSX Review

The TSX is the best value for the $ out there right now. For $29K, I got a 2.4 205hp engine, advanced safety features, leather, memory seats, Navigation, bluetooth, 6CD, XM, Aux Plug,.... you get the picture. The car does everything well save the road and wind noise. The fuel economy is not so great for a 4 cyl that requires premium - 20-22mpg. However, I do love to rev the engine so that is partially my fault. The premium sound system is pretty good, but the Navi is AMAZING! It has voice control for everything from climate to audio to navigation. The bluetooth HFL link can be useless at times due to wind noise at 60+ mph. Performance wise, the TSX is light and nimble, while the Benz is more solid and surefooted - true German engineering. There is no good reason for me to dump the TSX, but I just love cars and want to own as many as I can. It is a great car, and for $29K new, I am getting approx $25K trade in!

However, one thing that I will say, the TSX is a good looking car, but it tends to blend in. Maybe it is my color, hence MARS RED!

What's with those rims? Am I correct in assuming that there are 3 sets of wheels for the C sport? Or are those the rims for the 4Matic? I still prefer the 18" AMGs, however.

2008 C350
Yes there are 3 sets of W204 Sport rims available. The base C300 Sport which seemingly no one really likes, the 17 inch 6 dual spoke AMG rims that come standard on the C350, and the 18 inch 5 dual spoke AMG rims that are a $1000 option on either Sport model.

I haven't seen the rims on the 300 4matic yet so I can't say if they are the same as the base 300 Sport.

Just checked the MBUSA website and the C300 Sport 4matic wheels appear to be the same as the base C300 Sport so there you go.

This is exactly my situation (more or less) ...I drive an 04 TSX as my daily commuter, but feel now that it blends in too much, and I want to trade to the C ... I'm off to test drive this weekend and hope to get a good idea of what kind of deal I can get ... All I know is I'm going white! I'm a little wary about RWD in Canadian winter so the jury's out on the 4Matic (I've always driven FWD)

Anyone knows the major differences bet C350 and C300? I can't seem to find a side by side comparo anywhere.

That is the color of my 2007 w203. I get compliments about it all the time. People like more than black and brilliant silver, which everyone has.

Biggest difference is the engine and increased hp. Also the 350 comes with P1, black birdseye maple interior trim, 17" AMG wheels, 7G transmission and rear spoiler all standard.

I'm quite sure there are also some more technical differences, but those are the readily noticeable ones.

Not to forget, the front brakes in the C350 are bigger by an inch. As for the rest that comes standard in the C350, you can also get it in the C300 except the wheels and the black birdseye maple interior trim.
