Tele Aid Security and Communications System

Hey if you dont get the Tele Aid Security and Communications System option for an extra 600-700 bucks, do you just have those 3 buttons in your car anyway that are non-functional???

see link:
http://www.mbusa.com/byo/pop_opt_pac...o&model=C350WZ

that would be retarted if they give you the buttons still even though you dont have telenav...

anybody know if this is the case, those that already have your baby???

No the buttons are not present if you do not have Tele Aid.

People do not get it, so there are attempts to return money on investment in tele aid. Do you remember that MB and BMW introduced "Send map to the car" feature? They hope that people will get tele aid for sake of the feature, and they can return money. No way.

I have same question until MBUSA introduces Search and Send, which allows you to upload the Google or Yahoo maps at your home to your Navi via TeleAid and then starts route guidance. See link below and video clips.

Search & Send

Personally I think the new Google and Yahoo 'Search and Send" feature is awesome - in fact I was not going to order the Tele Aid feature until I heard that you needed it for Search and Send to work. It is perfect for those times that you want to do some route planning online before your trip, say for example you are planning a wine tour and want to research and find all the wineries in advance. With Search and Send you can plan online, and then send them all to you car ! - Now I HOPE THAT IT WORKS in CANADA, as that is where my MB350 will spend most it's time.

TeleAid later?

<<can Tele Aid be installed as a dealer option?>>

Unlikely since no wiring for it will be present in the harnesses. And no buttons.
