im interested in what to say to my advisor

We had it done on our ML320CDI, and our service adviser knew exactly what we wanted and how to get it done. It took no time at all and we weren't charged for it.

And yes, after you drive forward and hit about 10 mph, the mirror goes back to its original position.

You made my day!
Please tell us how to get it done. I miss it from my c32

Yea, my 2008 C200K does have memory seats and the mirrors tilt when I go into reverse. I'm not sure for the earlier models, but you could program your mirrors to do so. Simply go into reverse, and adjust your side mirrors the way you want it to. After that, drive normally. It should work. It did for me

Hi Guys,

Can somebody confirm that this works? I have a 2011 C300 with premium package (Canada). I would really like auto tilting mirrors when in reverse.

Thanks.

The fact that other models, past or present may have this feature has no bearing on this question.
I think you may be mistaken about the memory seats. Don't know about the mirrors, though:

Please note upper right frame of photo. I pick up mine tomorrow (I hope).

Apparently you didn't notice that the post (one of mine, in fact) you are debating with is more than three years old. Things have changed since then......

You're right; I did not. I also notice that the link didn't work the way I intended. Sorry about that.

Glad I was polite, at least.

On reverse the mirror tilts downward and after I go forward at some speed, lets say 10 KM/HR the right hand mirror returns to the normal setting in memory.

It could be that the mirror settings for forward motion and reverse is set at the same position.

Hope this will help.

I tried this and it worked. I do have memory seats tho so I'm not sure if that's a must in order to work.. N

It will work for anyone not in the United States. However, if you are in the United States you won't be able to enable this feature regardless of having memory seats or not...

Why not ?

Also this feature can be stopped, depending on what position the mirror button was last left in, for the life of me right now I cannot remember which one stops it, if you last leave the active left mirror or right mirror, it's one or the other, prior to putting the car into reverse make sure the red light is on the left mirror, and put into reverse mirror should tilt, if not, put car in park, press mirror button so that the right one is now lighted, and put car in reverse, mirror should tilt...

I never liked the tilting of the mirror so I always had it disabled....

Cheers

Yes, it works on my car. I don't normally do curbside parking so this nice feature is not often used. I can always switch on left side to avoid unnecessary wear and tear.

I'm in the US and my passenger side mirror tilts down when in Reverse.

I tried to get this working on my 2009 C300, no luck. The manual even describes how and it still doesn't work

Perhaps it is working but not working, try doing this....

while car is on and foot on brake, put vehicle in reverse, now using the mirror buttons select the right hand mirror, and then move mirror to the most down position it will go, release buttons, hold brake, put car in Park wait a bit, see if mirror moves back up, if not put car into drive, see if mirror comes back to normal position if it does save this into memory, and now try revers gear again and see if it goes down. If not see which button on your mirrors is red and pick the opposite one, try reverse again.

Not everything in the manual works or is available for all models all over the world, they usually make up a single manual, but a multitude of models it could cover.
