2008 C300 Sport 4matic
Is it me or does the C300 look different from the C350?

As I'm looking at the picture threads for the 2008 C-class... I'm starting to notice a slight difference that the C300 has a more softer look while the C350 has a more aggressive look. I think I've just been staring at the pictures too much but I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me. I ordered the C300 but I definately like the look of the C350.

Does anybody else see this? lol

are you looking at a luxury versus sport version? The only other thing could be the LED taillights? Other than that there aren't any differences.....

No, I'm actually looking at the C300 Sport and C350 Sport (US version).

Last week while I was at the dealer, they had a SFA C350 on the showroom. This car did not have HID or rear LED tails.

I think the major and only differences are the lip spoiler on the deck lid and the maple trim as apposed to the aluminum. Other than that it's it.

You're projecting!

Gotta be that you are simply projecting. As in you know the c350 is more powerful/quick and thus projecting a sporty image. MB does not list any significant cosmetic changes (any at all?) b/w the two, other than maybe wheels. Go for the c350, unless you need the 4matic, then you're in the same boat as most anyone in the NE or Upper Midwest, myself included.

Guess no one wants to come out with AWD across all models and trim lines for fear they'd be seen as biting off Audi? Either that or that they'd be lumped in with a Subie!

2008 C-350 Palladium Silver and MM.
I think that the lip spoiler on the back definitely makes a difference.

The wheels make a big difference. Other than it just has the rear lip spoiler on the exterior. Have you decided what wheels you're going to put on the car or still shopping??

2008 R350 & 2008 C300
I second the last user, its the wheels, almost every picture on this forum of a 350 has the 18' AMG wheel package, I think I might have seen one user have the stock 350 rims under the picture topic at the top of the forum threads, but he's the only one. Those 18's look much more agressive than the stock 300 Sport wheels, but you can't get them on a 4matic because they are offset, the rear tires are bigger than the fronts and would cause you to tear up the 4matic differential. I wonder though, if you go to the MB website you can build a 4matic Sport and under options it lists an 18' AMG package, but for 3k instead of the 1k for the 350, they might not be staggered width, could be worth checking out at the dealership. The brochure has a big (not available with 4matic) next to the 18' AMG wheel option.

Check out my thread, too many pictures of the stock 17 inch wheels, they are fine. I'm not particulary fond of the 18's especially if I'm going to upgrade them later.

First thing I did after we ordered the C300 sport was go to the parts department and order the trunk lid spoiler. She can always change the rims later.

17's or 18's
The car needs atleast 19's.
I got 19" Renntechs on right now and after I lower the car (hopefully next week ) depending on the stance I may move up to 20's.

I agree that the 18's look much more aggressive then the standard rims on the 300's, but I think most of the 350 pics you are seeing have the AMG 17's that are standard on the 350. They are VERY similar to the optional 18's, but they have 6-dual spokes rather than 5. See imboom's pic in post #9

Thanks everybody, that was helpful... I know the rims on the C350 and the rear spoiler are pretty much standard but I wasn't speaking of that. I was speaking more of the front end but I think it's my eyes playing tricks on me. I should be getting my C300 in a few more days. I'm excited and hope it turns out the way I want it. I plan to add the rear spoiler and a set of 18"s on them later on. But once again, thanks for the insight boys!

You need 19"s for this car

The color of the car will make a big difference as well. I find that the AMG package cladding stands out much more on a light colored car as opposed to black (like my car). The mesh work on the front AMG spoiler is more pronounced and stands out on a white car for example.
