That's very true. Before I had decided on the C350, I was going to have to pay $$$ to have the dealer disable the rear-side airbags. They also told me I'd have to sign my life away with some legal papers.

I know the MB child seats are smart and can disable the relevant airbag(s), but have you seen the price of the MB kid seats?! Ouch...

When it comes to options and pricing, I feel that MB USA and MB Canada have two different approaches.

In the USA they have tried to keep the car prices the same and they achieve that by putting fewer standard options on the cars. Less content, similar prices, year over year. So they are getting less car for the same price.

In Canada they have a different approach, rather than reducing prices and really hurt all existing owners and lease returns, they opted for increasing the content and keep the prices the same. So we get more car for the same price.

It's a different approach and they must think it will work well in their territory. Do I have any proof of that? No, but it makes sense.
