2006 BMW 330i
Talking New Car Purchase

Hey guys, I am interested in getting back into a C-Class after trading in my old W203 2006 C230 in on a 2006 BMW 330i. Don't get me wrong, I loved the car, but I wanted a change. Anyway, long story short I was looking to purchase a new C350 but then I looked at the forums and someone mentioned that they are coming out with quite alot more options for the 2009 model year such as Advanced Agility, Memory Seats, and perhaps a more powerful engine to compete with the 335i. Can anyone confirm or deny the existence of these features in the 2009 model year? If so, then when can I expect to see these options available on www.mbusa.com or my local dealership? In other words, when would I be able to order the car? My lease is up in May and I would like to get it done as soon as possible. Thanks guys I really appreciate it, Im looking forward to speaking with you all soon.

The options you mentioned (Advanced Agility, Memory Seats), are available on the C class outside of the US, so it is very likely that you will see them available for 2009. For a complete list of options for the C in other parts of the world look here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w204/215526-special-optional-equipment-w204.html
You can try to order any of those options through your dealer, as you can see there is debate as to whether or not it will work.

As far as engines, the only addition I would expect for MY 2009 is the Bluetec (diesel) engine becoming available in the US.

Spoke to my dealer during the pickup and he said not to hold my breath for the Bluetec (yet), but he would take a deposit for a wagon. I don't even think the diesel engine in the European C's are Bluetec. Add to the fact that the Bluetec will not meet the 2009 California emissions restrictions... I think there's a fair bit of wait.

But I will put my money on 3.5L V6 CGI engine coming in the future. That should give the 335i a run for the money.

... my advise to the OP is to wait if you can. I couldn't, so I "settled" for the 08 C350W4M.

Ok great, so I guess I will wait until it comes out. Also, when can we expect the pricing lists for these options? I know they just released them for the BMW 1-Series and thats due out in Spring of 2008 so I was wondering if there was a similar timescale for the 2009 C-Class

The Bluetec system is not yet sold on European C classes, but the system will most probably debut in the US C class as it did on the E class before becoming available in Europe. Also, the Bluetec C does meet 50 state standards, since it was a C220 Bluetec, while all the other diesels are the 320 6 cyl.

With the shrinking value of the US Dollar, MBUSA and MBCanada had to make a decision, what to do in this market place.

Then the cars are less expensive in the USA than in Canada.

I am no expert, but I think the solution to the problem was handled differently in the USA and Canada.

In the USA, to keep the price the same, the C-Class was "discontented" Fewer options but they kept the price the same.

In Canada decided to load the C-Class up with options that rival those of the S-Class, but they kept the price the same. So we get much more car for the same price.

That narrowed the gab between the USA and Canada.

I think MB Canada made a wise call and the success here of the C-Class confirms that.

MBUSA offers 2-year lease on E320 Bluetec in California. Sooo... two more years till Bluetec. And once again, the dealer would not take an order for the Bluetec just yet.

But does anyone know when they were able to place their orders for the 2008 model? Just so we can get an idea of when we can purchase the 2009 model with ACTIVE AGILITY! hopefully

2008 R350 & 2008 C300
As of right now everyone is just posting what they think or hope will show up for the 09 model year, no one knows for sure. As for your options mentioned, I think memory seats will be in a package for sure. I don't expect to see the Advance Agility Control in U.S. spec cars though, looks to be another one of those European spec options that they always get.

I'm not sure when 2009 models will be available. The 08 model was supposed to be out much earlier and it kept getting delayed. That could mean they will extend the 2008 model year a bit longer than usual so they can sell out the model before the 09's start.
