W204 C280 vs. 530i
A friend of mine just bought the new 530i facelift and is pushing towards a drag race tomorrow night!
Can the W204 C280 stand against the 530i.... its claimed to reach 100 km/h in 6.6!! lets say I am a better driver and weigh 40 Kgs less

Honestly,,, i dont think i can keep up with him
Any ideas

You are right Stephen,,,, it has the same engine as the one in my 2008 SI X3,,, and its damn fast !
However,,, the C280 is 231 BHP in here (not much of a diff compared to the C300,,,, although they share the same 0-100 7.2 sec)
I am relying on the diff in weight otherwise,,,, I am screwed,,, Actually I think I am screwed

After checking their website.,,, there aint much of a diff.,, the C Class is damn heavy

Im sorry to say that you will have a dificult day tomorow.
But to get serious one thing to do is get your esp off... by button
witch is half esp off or do the trick i am reffering to my post "deactivate esp"
Also there is another way to get another second from reseting your ecu.
If your driving habits are "cruising" style you need to do this in order to wake up your ecu for faster acceleration take off.

Yeah I was intending to do turn the ESP off but i didnt know that i will have to reset the ECU in order for the car to learn my new driving style.
I think i will take it for a spin a couple of hours before the drag.. to improve the throttle response & thats it.. I hope this helps

One more thing,,,, i took out the spare wheel, tool kit & everything that could be removed...
). Anyway, race on a half a tank or a quarter tank. I think our cars are 16 gallons fully loaded? so 10 gallons removed is 50 or 60 pounds or something.Oh yeah, remove the owners manual, that's gotta be about 50 pounds right there! Fold the mirrors in for aerodynamics (
). make sure tires are properly inflated, maybe on high side to reduce rolling resistance if you're merely dragging in straight line. other than that, maybe gettign out and pushing would help too!
