Any w204 owners in or near NYC? my dealer quoted me $600 to tint my C300 4Matic?!

I am also getting a quote for $450 by a "famous" tinter in NYC, using ceramic films.

Can anyone recommend a more reasonable tint shop in NYC? and about the tint %, will 35% get me tickets everyday?! what's the tint % you guys use and not get tickets?

Any suggestions are appreciated,

Unfortunately according to the NY state laws, the legal limit is 70% for front and rear windows and there's been an ongoing petition to ban all window tints altogether. However, I don't think that'll be effective within the next 5 years or so as most livery and limo's are tinted. Frankly, I'd be careful to tint the front windows. It sucks but if you really want to risk it by going further, I'd suggest you avoid driving on the roads towards the end of every month as those are the times when officers need to meet their quotas and they become rather ****.

thanks for the info, what % tint did you use? do you have a closeup pic on your tint? Mind sharing how much for the ceramic tint? or did you not use ceramic?

35% the tint is lumar-(not sure on spelling) I will see about a better pic, you would have to call him for a price but its Defintaly cheaper than that...
I would not use the dealer, the only markup the price from outside vendors...

So you're not tinting yours? I saw a white C300 passed by on Northern tonight around 5pm, the second one I have seen in Queens.. How do you like yours so far?

I do plan to and probably through Rob. I'd like to wait for spring time as I'll have less to do. That white C300 could have been me on Northern as I do drive down that road pretty often but I did see a twin today. Some old lady but I rock it better. lol

I found one of the best in NYC, he uses Huper Optik ceramic films - $400 - this guy tinted cars (bentley, Rolls Royce, etc) for movie stars like Glenn Close, Seinfeld, NBA players, and famous rappers, if your interested I will give you more info

I am gonna pick up the car in a few days so you will see another twin in no time hahaha except I will have the chrome door handle inserts...
