Please don't turn this into a XM vs. Sirius thread or the merger will render both companies bankrupt thread. This is for those who are considering activating the radio past the free 6 months.

Thanks for the heads up, I was on the fence based on the monthly/yearly price, but saving the $100 for the lifetime makes it make a little more sense. The sat radio is definitely nice for traveling... even with burned mp3s, the command drive, ipod connector, cds, the real radio, and the pcmcia slot.

I waffled over the fact that there were 4 more free months left on my sub, but it didn't make sense to sacrifice the $100 price reduction for the comped months. I had to call twice before I got a rep that would even allow me to apply the $399 sub at all. Glad it worked out for you.

It is too bad that this is buried, as the offer implies that we can transfer service for $75, for any radio.
FYI, the subscription stays with the car, so when you sell it, the new owner gets the free service.

However, my sales talked me into getting a 3-yr Sirius "promotion" when I picked up the car for $323 - and now I hear about this $399 life plan, I was screwed!!
what was I thinking....
