Always on power outlet - where is it?
Anyone know if the 2008 C350 has an always on power/electrical outlet. Sometimes i need to recharge my cellphone when not in the car and the glove compactment power outlet does not seem to work with ignition off. Is there another outlet that has power when car is turned off.

there is another power outlet in the back seat area, you might try that... but I would guess they are all switched.
You could of course re-wire it if you absolutely needed it.

power

It's in the right front corner of the glove box. Another in the rear ashtray. RTFM.

12V outlet
<<Since I don't have the manual in front of me at the moment, can you point out a page? I don't recall seeing that mentioned when I flipped through it. I was however, not looking for it as it doesn't really matter to me. Might be useful to the original poster though.>>
It's in the index under "electrical outlet."

that's what i thought too.. which is why i asked for the reference page in the manual.
i'd imagine there is a constant 12v somewhere in the fusebox, that you could leverage as long as the amperage was low.
the only 12v source i need is for the V1 radar hardwire that I still haven't gotten around to, and that needs to be switched anyway.

Outlets
<<Those outlets are switched and turns off with the engine.>>
You are right and my previous post to the contrary was wrong. I just tested both interior 12V outlets plus the cigarette lighter with my Fluke meter and they are all switched off by the key. Which solves the V1 wiring question because the glove box 12V feed is accessible when the right hand kick panel and the panel over the passenger's shoes are both removed.

however, my sat nav installation guy needed a 12v source and he took that from the light switch ie. the switch where your lights turn on and off, but this does mean undoing the dash etc.
not probably what you wanted to hear
