How much?

I paid just under $700 for the paint protection film on my C300 which covers the usual portion of the hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors and all lights. The same exact job by the same shop if sourced through the dealer (why would anyone be dopey enough to do that?) would have been $1400.

Before I traded my '01 C320 I got a bid to repaint just the center of it's Obsidian Black hood. $1200. Didn't do it.

Definately worth it

Be sure to get the fog lights done too, I learned my lesson on the CLK. The dealer wanted around $350 to replace the lens. I ordered the part and did it myself for just over $100.

The 350 is going next week for the clear paint protection, using the llumar film. They will do the lower apron, hood, side mirrors, and the door handle wells (from fingernails) for $599 and is a custom cut. Some of the kits will leave an 1/8 inch or so exposed. With the custom job they pull a full sheet over the front and cut it by hand so the edged are wrapped better.
