So back to the tips.... Did those tips require any modding of the diffuser to fit? Did they require any cutting of the exhaust pipe to be put on?
Specifically, can you find out exactly where those tips came from because obviously they can fit and look awesome, and I think many of us will buy them instantly.
Thanks

This car doesnt have an AMG badge on the back, now does it? The black roof is the new thing to do mainly on White cars. It looks really nice, and doesnt imply poser in any way. I guarantee, from a distance, even you couldnt tell the difference

wow,
looks REALLLLLL good
that is like the setup I want to go with, black rims with polished lip.
Did your friend also paint the atenna ? that is what it looks like from the picture. If so, did it affect the sound quality of the radios at all ?
Btw, what rims are those ?

I said that because the atenna in his post has a glossy finish on part of the atenna; where mine is like a plasticy matte black finish like the rest of you guys.

- I wanted the white/black contrast look on the car and the roof well added to that perfectly..
- When you see it in person along with the black tint/rims its looks damn nice..
- When the "poser police" decide to foot the bill for upgrades and the payments for it their opinions would matter much more but until then, well you get the point..
- As far as posing goes, its not like I took a Mercedes grill and slapped it on a Prius and tried to pass it off as a new Mercedes concept car...
The guy who owns the car has a good sense of humor and is a bit of a smart@$$ so take my thoughts on his responses for what they are, all tongue in cheek. For What It's Worth, no one has come up to this guy yet, that includes people at the dealership where he got it and said I cant believe you painted your roof black, the home office in Germany wants their car back since it resembles having a pano and you out to be ashamed of yourself you *** poser. As Blue has already said you can't tell at all unless you are right up on it or in the car itself. I think the owner of the car would rather have a car that has some differences visually than looking like every other MB in southern cali and believe me you see them at every stoplight as they are the Toyota of Orange County(meaning I see a MB at every stoplight it seems).
Hope this helps with the poser thing, but if not feel free to ask more

It could actually be the reflection from the roof that you are seeing on the antenna but I will investigate and get back to you on that glossy/matte issue as soon as I find out.

Since we're on the topic of being a smarta$$, maybe he should have saved money on the painting and gotten this instead.
Yep... all in good humour, right??

You can tell pretty quickly from the lack of rails and the semi-circular cutout for the antenna that this is not a pano-roof. Not to mention anyone getting into the car will immediately know...

Good humor is what its all about, so no harm no foul, that is actually pretty hilarious, the fake pano thing. The car isn't done being modded so the white/black contrast will make more sense once its complete.
Stay tuned to be continued on the next episode......
Oh and for those that click the link to look at it, you are going to have to click on the right on the year 2007 and then the month of Septemeber to see it as the direct link didnt work for me.

I had the roof panel on my silver Passat painted gloss black to hide the black-hole look of the sunroof, and also to blend the windshield with the rear glass creating a clean sweeping arc of the roof. I also had the chrome trim installed where the black roof met the silver body to match the window trim treatment. My reason wasn't to imitate a panoroof.

that is interesting to hear.
When I was at the dealship, all the C300 ~C350s all had black colored atenna's regardless the body color of the car.
btw, I live in Canada, maybe its different from the states?

Those new black rims are very nice....especially with the polished lip, atleast from far a way you won't confuse them for the 'black winter steel rims' that you see in the white north all winter long :-)
I love that passat...now if you can convince VW to produce something that looket that nice, then they would have many more sales.

Only 2 antenna colors for these cars right now. Silver cars get silver antennas and all others get black ones.

Moving Exhaust for Tips to fit
The diffusers were actually cut a little bit to get these to fit. The mufflers had to move inwards about a half inch to get the tips straight. These tips are actually Big in person, so minor modifications were neccessary. Im not sure the brand name of the tips, but Im sure you can find similar ones at any decent muffler shop.
Thats my really big question. At dealer yesterday looking at new car, so I stopped in parts and asked the guy, he gave me a grey area answer. Anyone know facts.?
