Squeak when folding electronic Side mirror

Squeak when folding electronic Side mirror
I have noticed a squeak in passenger side "Side rear view mirror".
I started noticing it after a car wash yesterday while folding and unfolding the side mirrors.
What are the chances its just some water left inside the mirrors joints? It does not sound like there is a problem with motor. Sound definatly comes from joints of the mirrors like some surface is rubbing against each other while they are wet. Think about a sound when you rub your finger over a wet pastic.
Anyone got this problem. I am gonna get it checked in few days if the sound stays there.

Yah only on passenger side... Mine started to make noise after the car wash.
I dont go to automatic ones. I just hand wash the car.
I am gonna fold them in opposite direction ( You have a button to do that ) and check if theres water under the joints. Will post here if the sound is still there. I will get them checked too if the sound remains.

Iv also noticed the same noise. Its is on the driverside, I think it happens when you walk awayfrom the car with out locking it and the car autolocks so the mirriors dont fold in but maybe the car thinks they should? Just an idea have no proff or anything.

And i get the sound everytime i fold -unfold the mirrors. Doesnt matter i use the key to lock the car or it auto locks or i press the button to fold unfold mirrors. I have'nt checked yet folding in opposite direction but will do so after work.
Myabe its just water in there thats making the rubber to make a sound when they rub against each other. I hope so.

Well it seems that we are all having some sort of 'sound' so i would worry to much since its a large group of people hearing the same thing. Still if you find out keep us posted!

The squeak sound was not there before yesterday so i see it as a defect. I will keep you guys posted.

I had same issue but on the drivers side 3days after getting my car. Took it to dealership and they resolved it in 10 mins. Not sure what they did but not occurred since.

They probably just sprayed some sort of silicone on it to stop it from squeaking. On a second note all my door handles squeak when I pull on them to open them, so its probably just a plastic on plastic sound, same as the mirrors.

Yea mine squeaks too on the driver side. But i think it only squeaks when the weather is cold. I will try again because just that i stop folding it since it keeps squeaking.
Beside that my driver seat squeaks too everytime i sits down or move around or even when i go through bumpy road.

+1 my passanger side squeaks as well. i have the auto fold feature on. i only hear it when im by my passanger side door so it doesnt bother me. if everyone else has this issue, i guess its normal. post your dealership results if you guys take it in.

Squeek? Both mine screech in protest as they fold or unfold. I'm leaving them set to fold in hopes that they'll finally fail so the dealer will be forced to fix.
To be perfectly honest though (this happened long after they started screeching) I've had them freeze in the closed position before because I was parked outside overnight.
When I first complained about my mirrors vibrating over bumps, at speed on the highway and when closing the door the dealer tried fixing them; they claimed that there is a service setting to set how far they open and close.
Mine are so loose now that I can physically wiggle them like a kid's loose tooth that just won't let go. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the screeching noise.

Ok. well as i said my squaking started after the crash wash. It was only for the passenger side mirror while folding unfolding. But today the sound was gone! so its back to normal. How i fixed it?
Well I did not do anything special. I went to me car , unlocked it. opened the door , heard the squeaking sound. Started the car , started driving to work. I had to adjust my passenger side mirror. after adjusting it and reaching my destination, I locked the car and as usual was expecting the squeak, but there was none!!
so adjusting the passenger side mirror fixed the squeak.
There is no other squeaking / rattle sound I hear from handles, side mirrors, doors etc etc even at high speeds. The car feel very reliable and comforting and solid.
