Cylinder Head Replaced 08 C300?
Hi All, New Member Here, Took Delivery Of My C300 4 Matic 11/27/07. New Years Eve I Was Driving Home From Work And Looked In My Rearview Mirror And Noticed Smoke, I Pulled Over And Opened The Hood And Found Oil Everywhere, I Called Roadside And They Towed The Car, The Dealer Called Me A Few Days Later To Tell Me The The Right Side Cylinder Head Was Cracked And Needed To Be Replaced, The Car Had 900 Miles On It, The Also Replaced The Valve Cover And All The Timing Chain Tensioners, Has Anyone Else Had Any Serious Problems With There Cars? Thanks

Damn thats a pretty old engine design. I am surprised it failed on you so early. Might be a one off fluke. If I were you I would ask for a warranty extension on the engine straight from MBUSA just to be safe in the future. Take it up with MBUSA corporate and get MBUSA technicians involved since this is the first case I have heard of such a massive failure.

i had some issues with mine around 900 miles also with a frozen pulley, i called benz and demanded for a free extended warranty, i got upgraded to 100k at no charge, warranty is transferable to next owner, you just don't know if this will lead into more problems later.

call the dealer and service manager. Also take it up with MBUSA. Call them on their 1800 number and demand they extend your warranty since this should not happen within 1000 miles.

Man, I'm sorry, but are you for real??
Get on their *** your dealership! This is a brand new car!! I'd be asking for money compensation for your downtime while they fix this problem despite the fact that they gave you a loaner. And I'd tell them you paid 37XXX dollars to drive a Mercedes and not a Toyota and that the least they could do in the meantime is put you in another C class for your troubles. Are you a first time buyer?? I'd be hogging for extended warranties given the state of the car at only 900 miles and that your worried about other problems in the future. If you are a first time buyer or new to the dealership, you can harp on the fact that this is an awful first impression if this C class is an upgrade from your older vehicle. In any event, even if its not, come on! ****, I'd see if they'd give me a new one and put that one back on the lot! The one thing I would not do is sit quietly while they fix my car! I had transmission problems with my CL not too long ago and they sent me $1500 for waiting (1 month) and kept me in an ML350 (it was winter) the entire time. I'm sorry I am re-reading this post I don't mean to sound brash, it just bothers me that I hear these type of stories so often and dealerships get away with making you wait forever while they fix new cars and offer their customers no recourse. Had to put that out there.
