I am so amazed that mb made such a stupid move. I have my c63 for about a month now and it is by far the most annoying thing ever... I don't really care how it looks, it is annoying that they stick out...

Any suggestions?

You can pickup the AMG brushed aluminum pins from your dealership. That's what I have, they look nice and they fit flush. I'm not sure how much they cost, there's some confusion.. but my dealership gave me them as a gift.

Sorry, the boxes they came in and the receipt for them are packaged into my household goods.. here's the brochure for them however. I sent this to my dealer and they were able to look up the part number no problem.

IMO the sharp pins we get are because MB knows N. Americans like to drive with arm resting on the window ledge

In all likelihood when the side curtains deploy they will do serious, shoulder area if arm resting on the ledge - so they put sharp pins and we won't put our arm there.

So why do North American cars get longer door pins? I always thought it was to make the cars easier to break into. Can't be to unlock the doors if in an accident, because the car will do that automatically. Has anyone just cut the pins?
