In Car Apple TV
Taking into consideration that the ipod integration with the C300 is absolutely atrocious, has anyone considered hooking up the new apple TV to their new C class? It would be nice to easily access all your music, podcasts, videos, movies etc., and have the apple tv sync with your computer's itunes account while parked in the garage.

Have any of you attempted to use an ipod in the car?
Am I the only one who thinks the GUI is lacking, as a matter of fact it is not even there. There is no way to select a particular artists, album, genre, or even song for that matter.
The essence of integrating the apple tv into the 7" lcd included in the entertainment package would be to give one the ability to do so.
I don't understand why this would be a humorous topic.

There are some people out there that are doing these types of installs in vehicles... I havent seen one done with an appletv (mostly in-car pc's) but there is no reason why it couldnt be done. There are even companies out there that can build you an interface so you can control it with your stock radio controls.

That is essentailly what I want to do, similar to the M45 install. Are you using your treo as a modem for the mini? Thats very cool, where did you get that work done?

yea, the treo was used as a modem via bluetooth for internet access, there wasn't much work to do, since the M45 had audio/video inputs already there from the factory.... just dropped in the mac-mini, plugged it in... I did drill a small whole in the back of the center console that tapped into the rear AC vents, so the center console was cooled via the car's air conditioning and the mac-mini didn't get hot....
the mac-mini would sync it's itunes library via wi-fi to the main computer inside my house each night.... I could use the treo as the wireless remote for controlling front row to navigate the videos and itunes playlists...
I also had a usb HDTV tv tuner in there hooked to an antenna.... so I could get local digital TV into the system as well via eye tv.... reception was so-so, depending on the area....
