German Plates
I'm picking up a C350 in the next two weeks and since I'm in New Jersey, the car will already have a front plate on it. Rather than just take it off and put in bumper plugs, I've been thinking about getting one of those German vanity plates you can customize. http://www.germanplates.com/
Has anyone put German vanity plates on their new c-class? If so, does it say something simple like Mercedes or is it something amusing/funny?
Thanks

I removed my front plate bracket and put on painted plastic plugs (no plate at all) -- looks really charp and clean.
On my last car I used velcro to attach a German plate to the front. It stayed on strong, looks much neater and more flush than a Euro plate frame bracket and the the velcro could be removed without any paint damage.
I wasn't feeling creative, so had the characters of the German plate match my Colorado plate.

No, Merc would never give me anything like that. I was thinking of buying them from this website: www.germanplates.com
You can customize the plate to which style/words you like.

I bought 1/4" plastic plugs from Home Depot, they were 5 cents a piece.
Sprayed a coat of plastic primer a coat of paint (www.paintscratch.com) and a coat of clearcoat, let dry and pop them in!
Barely noticable from a car length away and looks OEM up close.
I will take some pics this weekend.

here are the pics as promised:
please excuse the missing lower bumper mesh grill. It was damaged and a new one will be installed very soon.

No exactly true with the cops going for the German Plates. I had my german plate stamped to my NJ plate number. I actually was hassled less with the German plate on the front compared to having no plate. The couple times I was stopped the cops mostly asked what's up with the front plate. I said it was cosmetic, but stamped to my NJ plate. Most looked at it, shrugged their shoulders and sent me on my way.
But for the 204 I love the front with nothing on it. I called my dealership and told them that I do not want my license plate braket installed.
As for my previous car I had the cosmetic german plate on it, because it had Euro bumpers in which there was an indentation for the plate to fit.
