Currently have a C230, should I lease a C300 Sport?
I need some advice please. I have a 2003 C230 sedan(all paid off), and I have 2 years left on the extended warranty. I still love the car and would have no problems keeping it for another two years. Hell, I would keep it for 4 more years if I knew that nothing would go wrong with it. However, I don't know if I want to take that risk once the warranty is up.
So two scenarios:
1. Keep my current C230 at least until the extended warranty expires. I'm still going to lose money in depreciation.
2. Sell or trade in my C230, put that money in the bank and lease a C300 Sport. The dealer is offering me a lease for $1500 down, $550 per month(not including tax), 39-month, 15K miles per year. The car has a MSRP of $37,500. I have never leased a car before, does that sound fair?
A couple of things that are holding me back. I test drove a C300 Sport, and while the engine was smoother, my C230 had more power, particularly 30-60 MPH. The C300 seemed a little sluggish at times. Am I wrong here? Maybe I should test drive it again. The interior of my C230 looks better than the C300. And I don't think my interior looks that "luxurious" to begin with.
The exterior of the C300 Sport is awesome, especially with the 5 spoke AMG wheels. I love the look of my C230, but the C300 Sport is in a different class, there really is no comparison. No other car in its price range looks better on the outside.

hang on to your c230...when the warranty is up, get a new 2010 w204.
you paid for the extended warranty...heck, make the most of it.
besides if you trade er in, the extended warranty doesn't add any value to the trade...so it would be money lost.

Actually, the dealer told me I get refunded the extended warranty(pro-rated). That would equal about $1800 that I get back, plus the money I receive for the car.

Sell it to a private party you will get more $$$$$.$$ and the extended warranty is a + for you.
So your payment will be around $600.00

i think you should only lease the new C300 if you are really in love with it. if you're iffy about it, maybe you should hold off. I fell in love with the C and actually bought one the same day i saw it at a car wash while i was getting my old car washed. it was love at first sight. all the MM package, interior and what-not was bonus to me. then again, im a very impulsive person.

Sell the car private party.
Take the $, use that as downpayment (finance) on a 300.
Your payment will be the same, maybe lower, except you'll own it!
I went reverse. I leased my c230. Thought, since I was an employee I was getting a good deal. It was decent, but I won't lease again.
Leasing is for some people, just not me.
My payment is under $400 on my 300 and I own it. At least you have equity. At the end of the lease you'll have nothing.
