Is that 10 physical cars, or 10 variants of the car? Given all the non-US models, it could be the variants.

i am not sure, i think that is a type error, if there were only 10 i would guess it would not warrant a bulletin

I think auto manufacturers are required by law to notify the registered owners for recalls, so no news is good news?

it isn't a recall, but rather a service bullitin, different rules apply

So if our car is due for service after another 10,000 miles this problem can happened anytime leaving us unable to start the car ?

Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but we could've brought our vehicles in to check whether our parts are involved in this campaign and had it replaced under warranty instead of finding out the hard way?

If i still had an '08 I would print the PDF and stop by the service dept and ask. Seems many are failing.

Just did, as my CPO 08 has about 4 months of warranty left. And the service guy even volunteered to me, without pressing him, that all service campaings/tsbs had been taken care of on this car, but he didn't mention this one.

I have this issue. The dealer never mentioned it. They suggested that i order a replacement key since i only had one. The key did nothing.

Thank you for posting this. My car is a 2008 c300 4Matic Sport with 30,000 miles and is now sitting in the driveway. I can't believe that Mercedes would not order a recall . Such a depressing fact of how MB does business today.

C300--I had the problem also. I finally got rid of my c300. I took a beating on it but figured if this gets out, it won't be worth anything. Mercedes didn't take any resposibility for the failure. That's the thanks you get for trusting them. Horrible company to buy from. Get out while you can! Sorry and good luck.
