Made a mistake aiming fogs

Ok so, I turned the screw that aims the foglight, and i guess I turned it all the way to the maximum position (pointing up from default position). In my efforts to turn the screw the other way, I ended up stripping that torx screw so I can't even turn it at all anymore. The Mesh piece doesn't fit flush with the foglight out of position. Is there any way to fix this problem and point the foglight back down to the factory default position?

Why did you change the aim of the foglight in the first place? (Did you do it accidently from changing the bulbs or intentionally?)

Don't know where you live, but hopefully it's somewhere without much fog or rain, so leave them off, for now.

If the torx screw is stripped then most likely you are screwed and have to get a new fog light.

Go the the hardware store and buy an easy out, its a bit that will screw into the stripped head of the screw and allow you to remove it. Then go to the service department at your dealership and order up a new screw, problem solved.

Unless he stripped the threads. If that's the case, buy a tap and a slightly bigger (thicker) screw. Then, stop messing with the lights.

The problem is that part is not a screw that you can just take out and replace it with a new screw. It's more of adjustment knob that needs a torx wrench to turn the knob. That part is plastic and used for adjustment only. It's not meant to be overturned in either direction.

Go to dealer parts department, explain what happen. I'm sure you'll have to purchase a new screw with the adjustment plastic insert and keep the fog lights off by meantime, and by screwing things up that’s how we all learn, good luck.

He has the virtue to admit he is a moron... that said I have nothing to offer. Good luck.

This is something I would do. I was thinking about hardwiring a navi. What if I fry a circuit board or something?
